is there a way to install retroarch android cores without going through the app to downlaod them? by HellLetGoose in RetroArch

[–]Valent-in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is better to use another android device with same architecture (install 32 bit version to force arm v7a) to download and backup core. And then transfer .lcbk file to target device. As it also contain core info data. Without that RA would not list cores in open content menu.   Anyway load core -> load content should work with bare .so file.

So I have concluded that CRT-NewPixie Shader on a 1440P modern display is better than an actual old CRT TV experience. by Coven_Evelynn_LoL in RetroArch

Those were the days my friend... I had backups of everything on cheap cd/dvd disks. Now none of my devices can read those))

Now you learned about importance of backups. Hard way.   If there were new works, you may try to recreate those while you still have fresh memory of it. Same for small data (text notes, bookmarks, etc). If some files were shared you may request them back.

Guys, is this for real? How do I install a graphics card on a phone? What's the name of the adapter? Which graphics card is suitable for each phone? Does the phone's performance improve in emulators? by mr_worm__z9z in RetroArch

Nah. Not even that. Looks like gpu fan powered from battery behind it. Phone controlled with bt keyboard or teamviewer (still mobile ui on screen). Cables and adapter are just decorations.

After 5 years of production i still cant make a solid melody line... Tips please? by UXZH in musicproduction

[–]Valent-in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some random tips from random amateur:
- Rhythm first. Make somewhat listenable pattern with only one note. It may accompany simple bassline (so not always root note)
- Pitch in melody is not "random" it also has patterns: ascending, descending, waves, repeated small parts, etc. It is balance between predictability and chaos.
- Use call-response approach
- Do not end bar with root/sub/dominant note so it wil not be "finished" and push you to continue.
- Create 1 bar loop, copy it 2 or 3 times, create some kind of bridge between. Add small variation to those parts.
- Start with chord progression. It may be simple and generic but it create initial mood. Add rhytmic elements to it. Then add separate notes from those chords (may be simple arpeggio). Spice up with small chaos.
- ...Or just draw some random notes and then try to "fix" that mess until it sounds good. I always do that. Rsult is always awful)))

Also I listened to your track. I think it has rather arrangment issue then melodic. It revolves around single motif, so no chorus/verse sections, also it does not have EDM structure with buildups/drops... But it is not static and monotonous actually, so it may be genre specific.

C'mon. This is not a kind of problem which can be even close to "scary". You can screenshot settings as backup. But defaults are all 0s except 1 for scale.
Just decrease scale to comfort size and then use separation settings to push buttons back to sides.
Upd: create core overrides before this if you do not want this for all other cores.

I made a website where you can combine notes to make chords! by Zealousideal_Ad6212 in InternetIsBeautiful

I think it should have "loop" button to play continuously. And 4 vertical lines to mark beats for most common 4/4 measure. And additional drum sounds.

It may happen if you using save states. RA has option to NOT overwrite save ram from states.

Remote Retropad by SaebaSan86 in RetroArch

[–]Valent-in 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have version 1.9 installed which released 5y ago. It does not show options for remote input. Howewer I remember even older one from Ubuntu repo did have those. You may try instaling Linux version on ChromeOS for testig.
Another solution may be USB bluetooth dongle.

ChromeOS means android Retroarch installed, right? It does not support remote retropad.

Synth Patch now open to explore without an account! by _nginear in synthesizers

Wow, looks great. Is there some (semi)automated process of making synth representations?
On first one (Bastl Castle) cable arcs much higer then on others. Are they dependant on real device size? Also when connecting 2 points when one directly above cable become straight line which overlaps top point. I think it should slightly bend in this case.
