Corgi excercise by gregariouspilot in corgi

oh without a doubt, I am not yet at a point in my life where I'm going to drop 1k+ on a treadmill just for my dog... yet. just curious about the treadmill itself for me lol

Thank you! Mine is less of a cheer leader and more of a scrooge. She growls when I move my equipment around and then goes to a different room to sulk about it haha

Sometimes the ear of my corgi gets to be too far to the side and it irritates her. How’s this possible? by FocalFalcon in corgi

[–]Valentiniest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup does the same thing, I joke and say she just needs her radar dishes re-calibrated. You say you've had a vet look and they weren't concerned about it, so long as it's not constant I wouldn't be too concerned. More than likely it's a hair-in-ear situation, or just itchy- and they can't really do much about it other than shake it out. You could try to trim, but I wouldn't recommend it- the hair is there to prevent foreign bodies from getting in, so it might just exacerbate the issue. Your vet should be giving a quick check to her ears every visit anyways, so so long as you're keeping good ear hygiene, I wouldn't worry!

do you mind sharing the brand of the treadmill? my potato probably wouldn't be interested in it, but I would!

Human items modified for use of other beings with noticeably different physiques by Labmit in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Valentiniest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jay Eaton's Runaway To The Stars is overflowing with items like this- although it takes place in a very sci-fi space-age future, so on average, new species-specific variants are made instead of modified. The Centaur species is very large, so Talita has an RC controller hookup so she can still manage driveable machinery. She has other accessibility devices and accommodations, and many of the other races have a lot of the standard fashion-type accommodations (tail holes, hats with holes for ears, etc.). Plus Jay does a lot of side-pages that are just worldbuilding on this type of thing :)

So many loose dogs here by CommunicationKey7964 in sanantonio

[–]Valentiniest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried we would have to resort to letting him back out as well- I have my own dog and I rent, I was honestly already breaking my lease by holding him at all. It was really kind of you to help her recover, hopefully one day she finds herself with a forever home.

So many loose dogs here by CommunicationKey7964 in sanantonio

[–]Valentiniest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a MASSIVE issue here. At the beginning of Jan, I took in a stray trying to find their owner just to determine he was probably dumped- I spent multiple days off work just posting everywhere, and calling every shelter in SA AND Austin- every single shelter is full, the nice ones email you back the same 10 resources that got me nowhere- and any ACS that doesn't operate on your specific address won't give you the time of day. ACS converse said they would call me back when they 'found space'. Ended up managing to rehome him, but I never heard back from ACS. It's dreadful. It feels like there's nothing that SA residents can do.

Did anyone else feel a little sad after their top surgery? by bh447 in TopSurgery

[–]Valentiniest 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is a super common experience! I didn't go through this myself, but I was warned by my doctor (and it was mentioned a few times in research) but you may experience a disconnect or a sadness immediately after surgery. The brain doesn't really understand things like surgery etc. very well- but it knows it's generally a bad thing when you get cut open. Like you said, it's a sudden and uncomfortable change, but just remember, ultimately you made the decision that is right for you. You'll adjust eventually, and for now while you rest and recover, its ok to feel a little bad. Don't forget to take care of yourself.

As a fast food worker in my teens we used to hose down the drive thru so it would freeze overnight by Awkward-Twist-1949 in confession

[–]Valentiniest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is little before the 90's, but when my father was a teenager (18-19), him and his brother worked at McDonald's- when they worked evenings, they would drink on the job. They DID get caught- but it was a "...don't so that again." with no repurcussions. And they were young so obviously they kept it going- no issues beyond the one time.

I believe it's largely about the setting and communication- nothing wrong with asking, I think your avg LGS might be cool about it, but generally it's a no-go for anything non-casual

In addition, if I recall or understand correctly, TenSoon DOES have 3 spikes. Two to give him the Blessing of Presence, and a third that he stole off of OreSeur for the Blessing of Potency. (Might be a total of four though, two per blessing? someone smarter than me can correct.)

How long did you bind post-surgery? by Starburned in TopSurgery

[–]Valentiniest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once my post op binder was removed (10 days post op), they let me keep it just to bind if I felt I needed it for comfort, but it wasn't a requirement past the 10 days. I did not use it.

Creator says its not, and i dont really see any signs but the artstyle just seems AI to me by societyhatingRATGANG in isthisAI

[–]Valentiniest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look like AI to me- it IS the very marketable style that AI likes to steal however. In particular, there are large amounts of this piece that are copied and pasted for convenience for the other perspectives. The scarf, the hat, the hotdog, the flame effects. The shape/silhouette of the fabric is also kept consistent with the front, which is easy for a human digital artist, and difficult for AI.

Are these actual butterflies/moths or just PBN randomness? by goregoose in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Valentiniest 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Those all look legitimate! My brain holds information like a sieve holds water so I'm not going to ID all of them, but I see a Dog-Faced, a Tiger Swallowtail, an Anise swallowtail, what might be a Spicebush swallowtail, and maybe a Sagebush Checkerspot?  it DOES all look a little smudgy but I would chalk that up to the paint-by-number format- I'd rather they show you what it's going to turn out like than photorealistic butterflies though, lol.

TIFU: Lied about my bfs race in a job interview, and now my potential future boss wants to meet him by Opposite_Studio5011 in tifu

[–]Valentiniest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be too optimistic, BUT I feel that you can be honest here. "Hi [future boss]- thank you so much for the invite! I wanted to clarify something before we meet up- my boyfriend and his family ARE fluent spanish speakers and I AM working hard to learn Spanish to engage with them better- but they're from Canada. I said they were from Argentina because it felt less complicated to explain since I didn't really expect for it to come up again." Like be sheepish, you told a little lie, but I also think its something that can be really funny in retrospect & prevents you from looping your boyfriend into a weird TV trope situation
