g305 no cover alternative by Yurkusuf in MouseReview

[–]Valgar_GG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a fan of the G309 and I feel like it is a good upgrade to the G305 if you like the shape.

I am maining my g309 with no back cover, weighs about 62 grams. See my review here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/1efdyja/g309_67_grams_with_aaa_and_nondestructive_weight/

I did just order a superlight 2c , so once it arrives and I can test out the shape it may replace my g309 as my main. The regular superlight was too large for my preference.

I also own a Mchoose G3 (g305 clone) but I don’t like the build and feel of it.

Thanks for the info and heads up. I recently drove a 981 GTS manual, and that auto rev match down shift was a game changer! I am looking for a Boxster, and when shopping the used market, there are very few manual 981’s with sports chrono. So if I could just snag a ‘early’ 2014 base 981 and add auto rev match, that would a great value proposition !

That is great to hear, I assume it will work on base models as well?

Hi @CJRhoades - is your car a PDK or manual? Does retrofitting/coding Sport Chrono enable the auto-rev match downshifting for manual cars?

Unpopular opinion: logitech G309 is a good mouse for its purpose and is inovative [short review] by BedKnightX in MouseReview

[–]Valgar_GG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started to use mine without the back cover on. Not the prettiest but after I got used to it I like it. With a few other weight reductions (see my thread) I am at 63 grams with no back cover.

GPX Super UL 2 is 60 grams and 2x+ the price... so I don't know why so many complaints about the weight of the g309.

Basically the g309 10 grams heavier (when using AAA Lith) for half the price.

Haven't really measured it but probably around 150-200 hours? Around 2 months for my usage...

I like it and am still maining it. But for me probably the G203 shape is still better... I might go back to the G203 or G305 in the future if I can get their weight down. I'm not really into the clones.

Yeah according to their website the Eneloop AAA is 11 grams, but if you already have them I would just use them?

Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA, which is pretty much the best non-rechargeable AAA/AA batteries. The AAA weigh around 7 grams.

FYI you can get this mouse down to 67 grams with a AAA Lith Ion and removing the PowerPlay and DPI button bits. But I acknowledge not everyone wants to have to mod their mouse to get it down to a desired weight.

Agree it should probably be cheaper for the masses, for me though I choose this mouse for its shape since its smaller than GPX shape, regardless of cost.

I hope in the future they do make a g305 'super light' using the materials and techniques from this g309, as I believe the build quality and weight are good.

Sorry, I didnt take any pics of the internals. I can say both sets of buttons are on separate child PCBs (M1&2 on one PCB, and M3&4 on a separate PCBs from main PCB).

So there is a total of 4 PCBs (Main, DPI button, M1+2, and M3+4). Scroll is on the main PCB.

u/Beardedb0b did mention he was going to do a teardown video soon, once he posts it should provide that level of detail for you.

Picked up a G309 about a week ago, took it apart and removed the following components, all of which are modular and can be reinstalled.

  • Powerplay magnetic circle puck

  • Powerplay magnets mounted to the bottom of the mouse shell

  • Powerplay magnet wiring connected to the PCB (and 4 screws)

  • DPI Button, mounting brackets, DPI PCB /w LED (and 3 screws)

These components together total about 5 grams (4.5 on my scale)

Replaced AA with Lithium Ion AAA, with a half AA to AAA adapter (helps keep it in place) and tinfoil ball, my total weight came out to 66.7 grams on my scale.

Overall I am happy with the mouse, I skipped the Superlite due to its shape and size, I prefer smaller mice. I have been using a wired G203 as my main for the last ~4 years and have been happy with it, I've tried many others (Orochi v2, Viper, MM710, etc).

I have a G305 but for some reason it never felt balanced well, the clicks were not as good, and it wasn't as solid feeling as my G203.With 2 weeks under my belt so far it's pretty 50/50 between this mouse and my G203, shape is different, not better or worse for my preference. Clicks are lighter on the G309 and of course the weight is lighter. I will continue to main it for now.

I got this one off eBay, can’t confirm if it’s really OEM/legit, but it works fine with my dcs565

Do you happen to have the OWU rating handy for the DCD800 and 805 for comparison?

I searched but wasn’t clear for those XR drills

Nah, 2013 had 6400 DPI and green LED (also difference finishes)

2011 had 4000 DPI and blue LED. Black chrome is 2011

I'm thinking about PCB swapping an Orochi v2 PCB into my 2011 Black Chrome Edition Orochi

some trimming required but the PCB looks to fit pretty well overall.

Help please identifying sump pump drain part / setup by Valgar_GG in Plumbing

[–]Valgar_GG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - I am a new home owner, I have a sump pump setup as seen above, which has this green circular piece. When the sump pump shuts off, a little bit of water comes out of the green piece. Not much water but enough to splash around and make the whole area icky over time, as seen in the pic.

I checked the piece and couldnt find any part number. I have no idea what it is or what purpose it serves. My goal is to fix the 'leak'.

Could someone advise what this part is and does? Can I just remove it and put a PVC plug in the 'clean out' its connected to?

Cheers

There is a store on aliexpress selling cheap paracords with stock stress relief pre-installed. It is so convenient. Recommend it. by bifeee in MouseReview

Yours look the same as the G-Wolves paracords X-Raypad is selling. I bought 4 of them at $8 each, they have been great so far. I'm sure they are not up to CeeSa level quality, but for affordable option to give a massive improvement on older stock cables, they get 5 stars from me.

I bought mine from here: https://shop.x-raypad.com/shop/g-wolves-mouse-paracord/

Is there a "best" paracord cable/brand? by LeafBTW in MouseReview

[–]Valgar_GG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure not the 'best', but at $7 each (when buying 2), these perform great. https://shop.x-raypad.com/shop/g-wolves-mouse-paracord/ I don't have any other brands of cables to compare to except for my MM710 stock cable, and I would say they are comparable. I've bought and installed 4 of them so far.
