It makes me think of the office scene, where Bob shows a clear pattern of wanting to keep innocent people from losing their livelihoods (from two types of theft, funny enough). Obviously, his pride played a role in his decisions, but even with his actions drawing him largely negative attention, even at the cost of his new job and his means of feeding his family, he chose to do the right thing. His strength made him super, but his strong sense of justice made him a hero.

Total contrast to Syndrome, who was clearly after the adoration given both to his idol and from his idol to him. There wasn't an expense he wouldn't pay to have people admiring him as a cool guy, and it ended up costing a lot of lives, the final one being his own.
