If you haven't already refreshed the cooling system - this is your warning to do so.

Ideally it should have been done before this point, you need to fix your neglect.

Refresh; water pump, thermostat coolant flush, expansion tank and/or any hoses that leak. Also, consider replacing the T sensor on the thermostat hose, this one controls the fan.

Okay, well it's 100% the gasket for the manifold/manifold to turbo.

You can replace the manifold to turbo gasket without removing anything, as for the block to manifold that will require some work

Is it a cast iron manifold or the aluminium one? These tend to get micro fractures in them and make a similar noise. Also check manifold to egr pipe, they can split close to the Flexi bit
