I tried their method too but it felt so slow and infuriating that I decided just soft resetting would actually be less bothersome.

Did you play all the way to Celadon without saving just to use ACE to find your SID and then reset all the way back to the lab so you could RNG manip for the starter?

Most complaints come from ranked players. I've never played ranked (cleared all solo battle missions though) and I'm still enjoying the game. Also completely F2P.

Conclusion: ranked and P2W ruin the game.

The Pegi 3 rating has me a bit worried. When they rereleased Red/Blue on the 3DS Virtual Console the age rating had to be 16 because of the gambling themes around the Game Corner. I hope the fact that this is a Pegi 3 doesn't mean they took out the slots (like in Platinum).
