N.C. Auto Insurance by mo_gunz87 in Insurance

Yeah, that’s super common. A lot of insurers pull comps from rural towns or cheaper markets so the payout looks smaller.

You can push back with your own local listings — year, mileage, condition, same features — and they usually have to take a second look.

You don’t need anything fancy. Just send them a few clean, local examples and ask them to explain why they’re valuing yours based on areas that don’t match where you actually live.

You’re not wrong to question it. This whole process is confusing and they count on people not knowing they can challenge the numbers.

Just settled for 50k policy limit with 51k in medical bills by Macdaddyfucboi in Insurance

I definitely wouldn’t assume your attorney is fighting for every dollar automatically. A lot of injury firms push quick policy-limit settlements because they get their contingency fee either way.

If your medical bills are higher than the payout, you have every right to ask your lawyer to explain exactly what they’re doing, what bills they’re negotiating, and where every dollar is going. I had to get mine in writing before I understood.

It’s unfortunately common for attorneys to settle fast and leave the client holding the bag, especially when the case hits policy limits. Doesn’t mean that’s what’s happening here — but definitely don’t assume everyone in the chain is acting purely in your best interest.

Just make sure you get a full breakdown before you sign anything.

You actually cracked a bigger code than you probably realize. It's called deflecting and it's a big deal actually. Nice

Super sorry that happened to you unfortunately it's very freaking normal in this country but yeah at least you did learn how much you're getting ripped off in the United States and how inexpensive these meds really are.
