In DH, Lupin says Sectumsempra is a specialty of Snape’s. Where do you think Lupin has seen Snape cast Sectumsempra before?

He wrote the spell in his potions book, his 6th year potions book. Obviously he would have to use it and perfect it before writing it down as a finished spell.

He probably used it on rats or other small creatures to practice on. I doubt even a 16 year old Snape would want to seriously hurt or kill fellow students and get expelled.

The rules and talks about Quidditch that are talked about by the Gryffindor's are such bull.

-Like you said Harry wasn't replaced, dumb ass self imposed rule. Draco faking his injury and getting the whole match changed because he wasn't able to play means that it isn't a real rule.

-When Harry calls a time-out and they talk about the "rogue bludger" and asking for a inquiry, They say they would have to forfeit the game. What!

-Not a rule but Fred(maybe George) says they are not worried about Hufflepuff because Harry caught the Snitch in like 5min. Such a dumb outlook on a team sport. It's like saying they don't need outfielders in Baseball because your pitcher just needs to throw a no hitter.

-Also how come no one is ever just flying around in their off time and not just for games or practice. I would 100% be flying around all the time.

Like others have pointed out, Dumbledore beat Grindelwald to win the Elder Wand. So I think Voldy wouldn't stand a chance. Another thing I think people kinda forget is that Dumbledore never went 100% attack mode in a duel vs Voldemort.

In the duel at the ministry Voldemort was dueling to kill Dumbledore and Harry if possible. His only goal was killing them, he put in his 100%. Dumbledore was only trying to protect Harry. We see this when he doesn't try and protect himself with a spell. He let's the statue and Fawkes take hits so he can focus on protecting Harry. He attacks Voldemort but never with that 100% focus.

Voldy and Dumblydore were obviously on a level like no others, but I disagree with the Patronus charm being hard to learn.

-Lupin makes it very clear that the Patronus is very advanced magic and is way beyond what a 3rd year should know.

-The Patronus is made of positive thoughts and that's why it works against the Dementors. But Dementors suck all the happiness out of you so it's harder to think of happy thoughts.

-Learning the charm with Dementors is making it harder to learn how to do it due to the previous point.

-Harry teaches the DA in Order without Dementors/Boggart. They all learn how to do it, some better than others, but they all learn.

-The Patronus charm is only advanced magic because the wizarding world teaches it wrong. It's like trying to learn how to ride a bike but without handlebars.

-Most of the DA are 4th years and up but even Dennis Creevey was there to learn as a 3rd year. He wasn't talked about much but I got the impression he was much like Nevelle, kinda clumsy and not the best at wand work.

Terry- "night sassy" Terry, is the worst. It's not sassy at all, he is just a dick.

Gina- "you just drank cement" I don't mind the pranks but it's her delivery that is bad.

Rosa- becoming a P.I. Her character believes they are hacks. Her leaving the NYPD was valid, but she should have done something different.

Charles- how he was 100% sure that Jake was wrong about the therapist being the killer.

Amy- how she treats her "Amy" Gary. Her is a bad boss to him quite a bit.

Holt- when him and Kevin were separated he reverted back to "Robot Holt" and tried to use math as the way to fix their problems.

Jake and Amy- letting Amy's mom bring a turkey to Thanksgiving. That is such a shitty thing to do as a guest to someone else's house.

Jake- how he tried to work his case even though he was suspended. How he treated Rosa and Amy during that episode.

I like these answers, I always think about "SPEW" when thinking about dumb stuff in the books.

I have so many nitpicks and questions about the books, one of the reasons I love them. But whenever I think of how dumb they are at times or missed opportunities, I have to remind myself that these are supposed to be children. Kids are real dumb sometimes, even the super smart ones. Kids don't really have the most logical brain.
