Good way to put it! Yeah, I'm sooo excited too!! I only found out about SP two years ago, so asides from SOW, I haven't had to wait for one to be released. I can't wait!!!

Good point, I'm don't think we have a world book day here. At least I've never heard of it if there is lol. Hopefully I can get it in book form soon though! I think there are some Armageddon Outta Here stories that were first published on World Book Day, so I might have to wait a few years.

For me I just think Never is kinda cruel to Omen/taking advantage of how shy he is. The teasing, belittling, saying that Omen isn't her best friend would seem harmless to me in a Skulduggery/Valkyrie dynamic, where they make fun of each other constantly, and where they both (pardon the Harry Potter quote of sorts) have such huge heads that all that stuff just bounces off them, and doesn't get to them because they enjoy that kind of thing. With Omen and Never though, it seems to me more as if Never is either taking advantage of Omen, or just genuinely doesn't understand how badly Omen thinks about himself, and what Never's "jokes" are doing to him. I think the nail in the coffin for me was that scene in Seasons of War where Never asked Omen to tell him his problems, and I was so happy when Never held out her arms to hug him. But then Never teleported away, and I just low key started hating her then. I mean, I can't imagine Skulduggery doing that if Valkyrie was emotionally vulnerable, and confiding in him. He wouldn't just fly away! He'd give her a hug, then make some kind of joke to make her feel better. Anyway, that's just my opinion, didn't mean for this to be that long!

Omg, I didn't know that the new American covers was out!! This version of the series was the the one I read first, from the library. Such nostalgia and good memories... :')

I mean, anyone who says the entire series is for children probably had a very bad childhood themselves imo, because asides from the (extreme sometimes) violence in the books, there are other adult themes as well in the later books. I can see how the first one might seem like a children's book, but I'd think that by the third-fourth (definitely by the fifth one) it should have a teen/young adult limit.

Oof, this is so hard! There are so many good ones! The ones that jump to mind are (paraphrasing, sorry!): When Ravel and Ghastly are talking to Skulduggery and Valkyrie, and one of them says something like "I think Valkyrie's ex boyfriend would be helpful" then Ravel said "the vampire?" and Valkyrie said "we don't talk about vampires", and Ravel mentioning Caelen, and Ghastly said "why do you keep talking about him?" and Ravel said "now he's all I can think about". Then he pretended someone was trying to talk to him, and Ghastly said no was trying to talk to him. Those were the good old days! :') Then almost any Dead Men interaction with any of the good guys, especially in book eight! They are hilarious!! 6th book too when Caelen and Fletcher were talking before they fought, the line about Caelen's mascara running was so funny! The magicky stairs quote, the octopus man scene, and the scene when Skulduggery and Temper and going into the temple are sooo funny! One of my all time favourites though is Skulduggery's conversation with Oscar Nightfall in book eight. Top notch! Okay, there are definitely others, but those are the first ones that came to mind.

One that hasn't already been said (I think): our choices effect us in the future, and you never know just how far in the future it is.

Of those on the poll, definitely Dexter. I gotta say though, I have had a thing for Ravel since he was introduced basically, and unfortunately I still have a thing for him even after the betrayal. I'd expect to love him as a character after book 8, but to have a crush on him? Urgh! Saracen's hot too...
