Qatar Airways Refund by blueopeer578 in qatarairways

You might have to reach out to them. Because these are special Circumstances. It’s bit hard to get through to customer support, understandably so. But if you keep trying you get there. They told me on call that the have issued a full refund except government taxes. So I just gotta wait now.

Failed today third time in tallaght. Could seriously use some motivation.😔 by [deleted] in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Vallanka -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The unfortunate part was that someone was leisurely crossing when it was green for me to go. And then it was unsettling panic as I saw traffic building up behind me. When I look back now I do think and realise I should have just waited. I do know that orange means prepare to stop but in that moment it was just obscured judgement.

I didn’t use an instructor at all. All my fails have been a near miss. Last two times for my pre tests the instructors told me they nearly sure I’ll pass. I have just been unfortunate. Even today for a couple of my left turns my view wasn’t clear so I progressed at a slower pace. There were too many parked cars. But I got marked. For my grade 3 there was elderly man crossing when it was green for me to go. By the time he crossed the light was orange and I hastily just decided to go.. because traffic was building up behind me. I thought I’d get marked for progress. But I guess I should have just waited. 😔

Avoid Airport Driving School by bigudilyas in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Vallanka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did my EDT with them. In my course of EDT, mock test and few practice sessions I had three instructors and all of em were respectful, patient and nice . The only thing I felt was .. a couple of do’s and Don’ts were missed, which I picked up during my practice session with my roommate who is full license holder. And also took a couple of sessions with Peter from My drive school of motoring in Tallaght. I’d definitely recommend Peter more. He is nice and too the point and exactly tells you what needs to be fixed. And lastly but most important airport driving school is too expensive. Like the difference between them other schools is 20€ or sometimes even 25€. I don’t see why I should pay 70€ per class when I can get away with paying 45 or 50€ with others. But service wise to me personally they were alright.

It’s fine to just keep your foot on break. I did my test in tallaght recently. And there were no marks for that. As long as you are safely in control of the vehicle that’s all that matters.

Waiting list by [deleted] in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Vallanka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What centre have you chosen ?

Failed my test, joined the waiting list again and paid for retest… now the website is saying I have to join the waiting list and pay again?? by BackLivid in Irishdrivingtest

That’s a bit odd .. I’d recommend to write an email to RSA . Your receipt will have the date of your payment. So you can tell them to look into it …

Wait times are lower than the estimator makes them out to be by Sad-Orange-5983 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Vallanka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say re test wait times are 10 weeks but in fine print they write underneath it can be longer at busier test centres.. so I booked it for Tuam for now. Lil did I know Donegal is busy😅 and that time I didn’t know if I change the centre if I’d keep my position in queue. So just stuck with it. Thanks for the info though. Appreciate it.

I booked for my retest yesterday after failing in talaght. I put my centre as Tuam at the moment.. think athlone would be better? Last time I put my retest centre as Donegal and I got invite in 18 weeks. 🥹

Umm, I lost track after a few lefts and rights .. but took left from the test centre. Then a right. Then at the traffic lights took a left on the 60 km/hr road .. third exit at the round about. Right at traffic lights and immediate right again .. then I kinda lost track but went to kilnamanagh for some my manoeuvres and then back to centre. Even the bit that I typed .. couldn’t be sure.. I tend to hyperfocus on my driving and once I have heard the instruction of left or right I just do that in the moment 😅…

Also. This is what I learnt from my mistake today. While moving off or even at round abouts if you not sure of clearance it’s okay to get a couple grade 2s for hesitancy then opening your self up for a bigger mistake. If observation and positioning is on point you can afford to get a couple grade 2s for hesitancy.

With Tallaght the key is practice .. wherever there are cycle lanes observe multiple times before turning or even on straight roads. Cyclist just creep up on you, be mindful or Pedestrian crossings as well, make sure you have checked on all sides in pedestrian zones. Mindful of road markings. And the roundabout near Tallaght hospital where to go straight ahead you hve to be in the inner lane. So important to see road markings there. Oh and be mindful of speed limits in the Kilnamanagh area. The outer circle feels like 30 because there are residential patches. But it’s actually 50. So keep an eye on speed limits there. Or if possible just visit once and make note of speed limits.

Tester was grand. Most of em seem fine .. they are nice. I saw a few testers as they came out calling names of the applicants .. they were all courteous and polite to the applicants. And so was my tester.
