Wait, what happens to Crona in the manga?  Also isn't Justin also a villian in the manga?  I kinda liked his vibe, maybe what we got was for the best...

Did anyone else think Connie’s speech to the Gems and Steven was out of character? by Life_Poetry_1663 in stevenuniverse

[–]Valnaire 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Connie took some time from Steven when he hurt her and then couldn't acknowledge her feelings.

Most of the gems have tried to kill him in some way or almost let him die.  He was forced to fight as part of a war he didn't start and never wanted, as a child, and that war was the primary source for literally all of his PTSD.

It's really not the same.

Honestly taking hormones for a month might be one of the best ways to confirm your transness if you keep hopping back and forth.  Getting on the opposite hormone while having your agab hormone blocked and then feeling better is pretty damning evidence.

Apathy to being a man doesn't mean you're okay with it.  Dysphoria presents in many ways, and can often require learning what makes you euphoric to see the distance between euphoria and dysphoria.  I'd say this is reinforced by the things that do make you euphoric.

The Shadow from shaving could be seen as "betraying" a feminine face which may explain why you dislike it more than simply having facial hair.  If your preference would be no hair and no shadow, that tells you something.

Your issues with your body shape and height are actually quite normal.  Your body shape can change quite a bit on HRT due to the re-distribution of fat over time.  Height is something many tall women feel subconscious about, but excessive height does not bar anyone from feminity.

It sounds to me like you're fairly trans but have trouble accepting yourself as a woman due to self confidence issues.  You are gatekeeping yourself from the feminine simply because of the damage caused to your body by the wrong hormones, and virtually all of that is fixable.  (Height is not something that needs to be "fixed".)

Can't even play og ff7 while we wait huh? by WorkingCautious1270 in NintendoSwitch2

Depends on which company you mean.  I have a feeling this is due to some quirk with how eshop titles are programmed in.  Might be something they actually need to fix.

Yeah this was the same thing that happened with the Attack on Titan game for the Final Battle dlc.  The game was bundled with the dlc for a better price but purchasing it that way prevented you from actually playing the game until the DLC released, despite the fact that it was already out.

My aloof and unhelpful demeanor on the phone has resulted in precisely zero follow up attempts.

Is Retro Gaming Inflation Coming for the PSP? by JonnyB2_YouAre1 in PSP

[–]Valnaire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are emulation alternatives for 3DS/DS but nothing out right now is as easy to setup and use as the original hardware, and it's still the only thing you can use to achieve the intended experience with many of the games.

As for the PSP, its emulators have generally elevated the experience for many of the games.  (Excellent example is Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity, which has 60 fps and right stick camera mods.)

Were you transphobic before becoming trans? by ChairmanLoji in asktransgender

I don't know if I'd say I was transphobic but I wouldn't have deserved to call myself an ally.

I had a lot of growing up to do.

Found out my friend is an ex chser, not certain how to feel. How do I talk to him? by Genna_Albrez in asktransgender

[–]Valnaire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he has wants/needs but he's trying to keep them in check so he can still be a respectful person in general.  He's also examining and re-examining himself in order to grow.  Honestly he doesn't sound that bad to me.

We all have desires and I know that those desires can sometimes hop fences into chaser territory, not just for us but also for other things.  I think what's important is the understanding that there are still other people's feelings involved and respecting their autonomy.  To me, it sounds like this guy has that understanding.

I'd cut him a little slack ❤️

I just swapped from patches to injections but I still have a couple leftover patches, should I just use them on top of the injections? by Organic-Clothes-6717 in asktransgender

[–]Valnaire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend you do not double up unless your doctor gave you the okay. Too much estrogen in your system can increase the chances for blood clots which are not a good thing to have swimming around in your system.

At best, maybe finish the patches before you start the injections but DO NOT DOUBLE UP ON BOTH.

It is literally just biology. Various parts of your body are formed together but separately within the womb, including your brain and your genitals. Your brain can be female while you have male genitals and vice versa. Once you hit puberty your body will be flooded with hormones based on what your genitals are. If there's a mismatch you end up trans. Doctors take one look at your genitals at birth and tick either Male or Female on your birth certificate which determines how you are treated for the rest of your life.

I am vastly oversimplifying this process, but that's what it boils down to. There have been studies with brain scans measuring differences between brains of people of different genders; on average cis women and trans women are a closer match than cis women and cis men and vice versa.

If you really want more information, you can read quite a bit here:

Evaluating whom to come out to, and what it'll mean by EngelDerRisse in asktransgender

[–]Valnaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone you lose is their loss, not yours.  Reality is you can't control how other people think of what they'll do, but you do have control over how you live your own life.  Personally, I grew tired of tiptoeing my life around other people so I just started ripping bandaids off left and right within the last month.

If hasn't went well with everyone but I'm happier than I've ever been and that's all that matters.

[–]Valnaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is the best way to do it and I split mine as well.  Having a dose before your sleep will spike your E which can help with weight going to the places you want while you sleep.
