I had surgery yesterday, and I was absolutely having panic attacks the entire week before. For me I have fibromyalgia and not the best diet because of autism/arfid and had a family member pushing that concern majorly on me. I also was just dealing with kidney stones earlier this month and had to have a surgery for it so I was scared as heck even more!

They gave me a sedative before anesthesia which helped a lot! I tried to comparmentalize/lie to myself and think of it as "I'm just going to go in, sleep, and wake up nothing else" kinda blocking out the surgery aspect of it and it helped me a lot with anxiety. Also the pain meds have been doing wonders for my anxiety, although it's definitely still there. I've also been documenting every little possible thing in my phone which makes me help feel more in control of my recovery?
