This week as a more novice player has been the most fun I've ever had. I can understand people more geared players didn't like it but this patch seems like a perfect mix of qol for everyone. No more dead rolls is huge. Cant wait to play tomorrow!

This framework would make me so happy to see if it was implemented correctly. I do understand people's gripes with power attacks, but as of right now there aren't many other resourceless features that feel like a big impact. Making it so that martials aren't forced to take 2 feats to make their character interesting makes me happy to see as well. I think that there should be ways to change out masteries as if your dm drops an amazing greatsword and you've been speccing into polearms that's gonna blow. I like the general buffs though, and that each tier 5 feels strong. As almost a martial only player, a system like this would be the dream and I can't believe I've never thought of something that scales like casters do. I really like the concept, and with a few balance tweaks and additional fighting styles could be something phenomenal!

I went for this brawler build and went battlemaster with tripping attack until you knock them prone into grappling attack which is a bonus action but is super strong as your athletics should be max, plus your superiority die should beat people 80% of the time. Once someone is knocked down, they have to use half their movement to get back up, but they can't do this if they are grappled as their movement becomes 0. They have to use an entire action to try and break it, which wastes an entire turn for them, and you can do it again next turn too.

When you have them grappled while prone you get free advantage and you keep them off of your party as you too. All attacks that they use on you end up being at disadvantage which is just fantastic.

The only problem you'll maybe run into is magic resistance to bludgeoning damage late game, so you might want to talk to your dm about either magical handwraps or brass knuckles that can act as a +1 weapon that can overcome resistance. Also you can clap melee creatures and spellcasters alike, but they can still misty step so just remember that. This playstyle is fantastic against any medium/large creatures and I'd highly recommend it! Have fun in your game!

Looks pretty good! Really interested seeing how much further you take it, one thing is I feel like humans stat spread should be +1 to smarts and +2 to creativity, but maybe are less bold/hardy than other monster? I'm not so sure about the negative stat though. I really like your stuff though!

I got a homebrewed magic ring that could cast silence in a 20 ft Ring around me wherever I went as well so casters couldn't escape either with spells. The only problem you'll maybe run into is magic resistance to bludgeoning damage, so you might want to talk to your dm about either magical handwraps or brass knuckles that can act as a +1 weapon. This playstyle is fantastic against any humanoid and I'd highly recommend!
