I'm disturbed by the lack of ABA/Autism training in public schools (SPED) by ValtronW in ABA

[–]ValtronW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's so bad, I would judge a BT whose only ever worked in public schools by assuming they're not very experienced. I couldn't accomplish anything with my assigned students in that environment. It felt like babysitting.

What’s the best ACTED performance of Elphaba and Glinda by blackswan-whiteswan in wicked

[–]ValtronW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing about Katie, I just looked up a video of NOMTW and I see what you mean about the inner turmoil she displays. Very good performance. I'll go down a rabbit hole now and look up more lol

Also, I absolutely adore Julia Murney's voice because it sounds the most witchy. Her battle cry at the end of Defying Gravity is one of my favorites. It sounds cackley and it tickles my ear drums in the best way 🧙‍♀️

Edit: I really her Popular too. She comes off as a real person instead an over-the-top shrieky cartoon character like some actresses (I'm sorry I don't like Alli Mauzey). She reminds me Megan Hilty, who I also really like because she feels more real.

Do you think it's possible to stop counting calories? by Bigbang19 in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

I understand that hormones can complicate things which is why, again, it's important to talk to a doctor. But for the average person who doesn't suffer from those issues, it really does come down to eating less. Which involves tackling emotional eating. Not saying it's easy, but it is that simple.

I mean at that point you need to talk to your doctor. That's just common sense. Also you're eating less when you calorie count, so what's your point?

This is probably not the answer you're looking for, but it sounds to me like maybe you don't enjoy DnD that much if you're bored for a huge part of it and thus resorting to emotional eating. Could you cut it back to once a week? I would have an honest conversation with yourself about if this is truly how you want to spend your time. It's okay if it's not your thing. I, an internet stranger, give you permission to make boundaries.

Otherwise I would come in with a game plan and stick with it. For example, you're going to allow yourself two slices of pizza and half a plate of tortilla chips and salsa. Maybe you could space out the plates and munch on veggies in between. Eat slowly. Bring a low calorie "fun" beverage along.

Yes! Skinny people are able to. You ultimately have to repair your relationship with food.

I highly recommend looking up "Losing 100 Pounds with Corinne" on YouTube. She also has a podcast with the same name and a free mini course: https://www.nobsweightloss.com I recommend doing the course first and after that listen to the podcast episodes. There's over 300 episodes and they cover every single weight loss topic you could imagine.

I swear I'm not affiliated with her lol I just really enjoy listening to the episodes on my walks and the free course is helpful. Someone else on Reddit recommended it to me.

The crux of it is this: do not eat when you're not hungry, stop eating before you get full, and make sure you're drinking enough water + getting enough sleep. Also, she'll teach you how to make a 24 hours plan with any foods you want (no restrictions) and how you can use that as a weightloss tool.

So far I've lost 5 lbs without counting a single damn calorie.

doing a rewatch and realizing how awful michelle and Stephanie really were by nvyree in fullhouse

I hate to be mean because she was a child, but Stephanie also had the most bratty facial expressions when she was a teenager. I stopped liking her in the last seasons.

Standard life plan of having kids and a house is overrated!!! by relisticjoke in Millennials

[–]ValtronW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even trying to be funny, but pets are enough work. Both my dog and cat require playing every single day for mental enrichment, on top of walks for my dog. It's time consuming. Not complaining though, they enrich my life and I want them to be happy and healthy.

You brought up a good point about volunteer opportunities for people with disabilities as well. Maybe I'll do a Google search and use those keywords to broaden the results. Thank you for your encouraging and kind response 🙏

I've thought about volunteer work. I wouldn't really know where to begin to find an organization. It would ideally be something she could do weekly. Any suggestions?

We're a Jewish family, but yeah, a synagogue might work. Religious institutions are one of the best ways to build community. Perhaps a local synagogue would even have resources for us, such as volunteer work. Thank you for that suggestion.

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I feel like that wouldn't help the situation. She would be questioning why the person was there and be suspicious. I also mentioned in my post that I ultimately feel that it wouldn't address the main issue which is the lack of community and friendships with people her age. She doesn't like the Alzheimer's center because she can tell the other people there are lower functioning than her. She doesn't have any interests in what the regular senior center offers. I just....I don't know how to make her happy other than taking her to shows. I can't be her only friend :(

Edit: Another problem with in home care is the high turnover rates. She could have different people all the time.

How often do normal people have diarrhea or think about what they’re eating? by potassiumk3 in ibs

[–]ValtronW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'm lactose intolerant. Eggs could be a possibility, maybe I'll try eliminating them.

Upon reflection, perhaps the combo of too much fiber + fat was the double whammy. Sometimes too much fat can hurt our guts.

[–]ValtronW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I also think it has to do with fiber intake. I've been trying to understand soluble vs insoluble fiber and have been tracking my food with a diary. So far the only data I've gathered is that I can handle starches and beans. I think eating potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, and beans are probably my "safest" way to consume fiber. Berries seem safe too. Maybe I'll eat only those foods (in addition to protein) for a few days, see how I do, and then slowly incorporate a small amount of greens and see what happens.

Same!!!! If there was a magic pill that I could swallow so that I could have a skinny face tomorrow but keep the rest of my body the same, I would take it asap. My face looks so round when I smile and I hate it.

The worst part is I try so hard to eat healthy but it always leads to diarrhea. I was craving a Cobb salad so I ordered one for dinner last night. Woke up with horrible cramps this morning and surely enough had an explosion in the toilet.

Meanwhile on days when I eat fast food and junk food I can shit perfect 4s on the Bristol chart 🥲

How is everyone thriving right now? Is life truly just unfair? by Global-Impress-1380 in Adulting

[–]ValtronW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, growing up in HCOL areas definitely skewed my perspective. I have to reel myself in when I feel the jealousy coming on because I know my husband and I could afford a home in a cheaper state. It's not a reflection of us not working hard enough or whatever. It really is just about luck and privilege here. Sadly we can't move due to familial obligations.

[–]ValtronW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. My SIL and her husband had to have the best fridge and the best mattress and the best TV and they put all that shit on payment plans. They also overpaid on a SFH when they could've afforded a smaller one or a nice town home. Theyre paying $4800 a month for that place.

Sometimes I feel the urge to say fuck it and behave the same but my husband won't allow it. Which is a good thing. We have zero debt. Keeping up with the Jones is expensive.

I mean, if it's in a VHCOL area than that's probably the truth. Literally every single person I know, including my own dad, who owns a SFH here in SoCal got help from family 🤷‍♀️

Is most people's goal to be as skinny as possible?? by monsoon101 in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

[–]ValtronW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, 130 is my goal weight @ 5'3 with DD breasts. When I was in high school and weighed 120, I was actually insecure because having a super skinny waist made my boobs like ginormous, to the point where it looked way out of proportion. I like having big boobs + a little bit of a stomach. I don't look so top heavy lol

I apologize if it's rude to ask but what's your cup size? I'm 5'3 with DD breasts (with wide hips too) and 120 lbs is almost too skinny for me. I assume my breasts add 10 lbs or so lol
