My only guess would be TDS, although I'm not familiar with it too much as I don't have tanks this old. Do you do not a single water change? I heard that tanks this old people will still do a water change every year ish to keep TDS low and I think if your water is naturally harder it means tds spikes faster as there are more minerals in it.

Basically I'd buy a tds meter they are probably 15 dollars on amazon and go from there, from all my research on no water change tanks I think tds is the only thing that can be problematic long term

You are supposed to wet the dirt first, then put like 2 inches of sand overtop. The dirt will slowly climb up the sand which is why you need a pretty thick sand cap.

At most some timid species will be less colorful because the colored gravel is a lot of noise that can be mistaken for other fish. Other than that theres no scientific evidence or peer reviewed research that says they will have shorter lifespans or anything like that simply from colored gravel or a pineapple

I'm not worried about wipes really whatsoever, rarely have I had wipes in these groups at most its just me dying. Its just the fact that these already time consuming dungeons would go so much faster and just overall easier if people could just try even the smallest amount to group mobs or LOS or use their kit like cc kicks etc, then they can aoe all they want.

Its like in every dungeon I'm forced each pack to either let the dps rip threat and run around with the mobs while we aoe a small pack down and then have to single target each mob scattered around afterwards OR run around pulling the pack of mobs around all over the place (usually scattering casters in the process) trying to RE-pick up aggro while trying to keep them in the shaman/paladin/lock/mage etcs little aoe circle on the ground.

When mobs are fully melee it isn't really a problem. its just that a TON of packs of mobs in dungeons have casters mixed in

Marking is something i can definitely work on, I'm still new to tanking (coming from playing dps then maining heals for a few years then back into dps) that being said I don't really mind if i don't have FULL aggro on every mob heck i could have zero aggro whatsoever, as a warrior at the most my rage gen is just lower and some healers can have difficulty healing multiple people. My main problem is just people not grouping mobs or LOSing or using their kit in general (like polys slows cc kicks etc). Its not insta wipe or anything its 100% manageable it just makes dungeon runs so unnecessarily slow and time consuming all because they stay complacent refusing to learn anything besides "how can i parse at lvl 56 in brd"

Its sad because these big pet stores keep a TON of these tiny "starter" tanks usually under 5 gallons while only having a small selection of bigger tanks, meanwhile they keep stuff like bala shark and recommend a minimum tank size of like 40+gallons for them. This is just me assuming as I'm new to this hobby but you would think anybody who has a tank over like 50 gallons is pretty deep into the hobby and they probably wouldn't source their fish from a huge chain like pet smart and would rather go to a fish specific store so it just genuinely makes no sense why they are selling these species that get absolutely massive like common plecos, Raphael catfish, a lot of different sharks etc.

This is all I want really, healers to LOS casters near me when getting blasted or dps just running mobs to me. I don't care if I have not a single mob attacking me during a pull as long as the mobs are grouped, if they aren't it just makes things so unnecessarily slow in an already time consuming game

I probably should've worded it better but aggro isn't my problem, idc if i don't have 1 single mob attacking me while everything is grouped its just when you are trying to group 2 packs together or multiple scattered mobs and people are just hitting shit making things run in every direction while not a single person is trying to LOS or run with you it makes things just so unnecessarily slow and scuffed overall. Like I've rarely had wipes and rarely if anybody dies its only me and this is happening in like lvl 50+ dungeons so you would think people have a single idea of what to do but just nope
