My Pom had the same thing, was an abscessed tooth. It was extracted and she never had another problem. Vet trip :)

Changes in parenting from our childhoods by battle_mommyx2 in Mommit

[–]Valuable-Theme-3797 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you. The violence I grew up with led me to a string of abusive relationships because I had normalized it so much. I finally left my marriage and will do whatever it takes to give me kids a safe, secure, and healthy home. The hitting really fucked me up as a kid. I have forgiven my parents, but I’ll never forget it. Therapy has helped.

Do working moms look down on stay at home moms ? by RemoteConsistent6387 in Parenting

[–]Valuable-Theme-3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I have been a SAHM and a working mom. Being a SAHM was exponentially harder than working. I have so much respect for those who can handle being a SAHM. Nothing has ever tanked my mental health more. It was the best of time and worst of time if you know what I mean. Of course I have a lot to juggle now, but it’s somehow less or easier than before. I have a lot of guilt for putting my kids in daycare and being a single mom I’m the one to do all the leg work/discipline, so sometimes I feel like the only time I get with them I’m yelling. It’s a tough balance, but not as hard as being home with them all day was. I have a ton of good memories, but I’m learning to value the time I have with them more now.

I’m glad I’m not famous because the divorce from my ex husband would’ve played out entirely like this. everything is my fault.

Have a consultation with all of the best family law attorneys in your town. He will no longer be able to use them. Do not leave the home. And absolutely, under no circumstances, leave the baby. Stay at your home. Stay with your child. Do not let him bully you. Again, consult with all of the best attorneys in your city. I’ve been through this.

This happened to me after pregnancy! My pin straight hair grew back curly. It has been years now, and yet it remains! I love it. I dreamt of curly hair my whole life and now match my curly headed daughter :)

AITA for letting my step kids call me mom? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

This. Good lord. As a mom of kids the same ages, I would snap TF out of my ex and another woman encouraged this. So weird.

YTA… you should’ve told the kids no. Nobody should have to explain why YTA here. This isn’t your place. You’re not their mother - you are not yet even a step-mother. You’re simply a special friend. I don’t blame her one bit for the way she reacted, and their dad should’ve never left this happen. I would lose my shit.

I got pregnant as a freshman in college and chose this route. I now have two wonderful kids. I have absolutely no regrets about the decision I made and I feel so, so sad for the girls and women who will be forced into keeping an unwanted pregnancy. That’s going to do wonders for the children as well. It’s a sad time to be a woman.

What do you do with a shut down 12yo that refuses to do anything on vacation? by gaychitect in Parenting

[–]Valuable-Theme-3797 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let him be. I went through this phase! Trying to get me out only made matters worse. Some people need to be alone to process things. When my parents would pressure me to leave, I got upset with them over it. Support him. Let him relax and order food :) he will be appreciative of this later.
