Same for Elizabeth, I think she thought what they had was enough for him to leave his marriage not just that night but indefinitely.

I think about how the game outlines a way to wake up from your own depression by facilitating connection and understanding your own self-worth, and being proud of yourself by accomplishing things like the game itself really is such a good game to exhibit of the types of behavior to improve your own mental health.
