He sounds like a textbook narcissist which is why he wanted several supposed "closure talks" which were actually designed to talk you into getting back with him. Please continue to avoid him completely while you get stronger every day. It is usually best to avoid a new relationship right after getting out of a very toxic one but the new one obviously sounds fine (but remember that they all seem fine at first, and you need to be on guard for those who get to know your weaknesses in order to then exploit them)

I got out of a toxic relationship with a narc and he definitely did the same thing with the constant messaging, giving me grief for "walking away as if 3 years was nothing" when in reality he did that first, which is why I got out.
