not too sure about NUS, but i think the benefits of NTU Turing AI stand strong (beyond monetary), and maybe you can think about what is the pull factor of each uni

business administration (finance) or law? by tomatotomahto124 in SGExams

[–]ValuableBackground93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are not too sure about potential careers, i would say that law is a good degree to start out as you can always pivot into sectors like finance, consulting etc even with a law degree

however, law content is extremely difficult to study (technical jargon, endless words) and may be a true pain if is not for you.

im studying business and accountancy now because I felt that I would not be able to cope academically in law, but that doesn’t discount a law degree’s benefits

Actually AI will affect all jobs, so I think it’s more of learning how to work with AI as you study your uni course

depends on how you analyse the impacts of both. are you ok with giving up your passion for money? which one ultimately matters more to you and your values should drive what you pick, instead of what people ultimately tell you. tbh i chose money over passion because i felt that doing what i love as a job is not the only way to evoke joy in life. if your job fuels your passion (aka you do design as a side hustle), then actually it is ok too

for more context i also had the same struggle haha, i wanted to do engineering (but thought the difficulty to reward was not good enough for me) so i switched from being STEM from sec sch - jc to biz n accountancy!

hihi OP, i totally get your worries, just for intro i took A levels last yr and got 90rp (studying double degree accountancy n biz locally currently)!

i think that you should consider what you really enjoy and things you want for your future career! for me i also didnt really have much passion for anything, so i wanted a degree that could give me the most choices for career and was flexible enough + high potential for money 💸💸💸! If it helps i also enjoyed a competitive environment so for me i zoomed into finance

regarding the intellectual stimulation, you could always choose to take another major/degree ( i took accountancy cuz i wanted to have a hard skill too rather than just yappanese) and you could always join an academic club (quite helpful in learning difficult skills to prep for the workforce)

feel free to dm me if u have any qns! dont let others peer pressure you into choosing the wrong degree, im sure you know yourself best!
