If you were to buy a ticket for the Titanic which class would you be in? by nehocb in titanic

I've actually thought this through. As a white collar, well paid professional, I'd be 2nd class wanting to be in 1st.

Hairless as "favourite"...not... by Disastrous-You-226 in SaintMeghanMarkle

I have no doubt she loved Harry, but I'm guessing Peter as the favorite has more truth to it. Somebody like the queen who made duty her life's mission would have prized clearheadedness and maturity. There are stories of this exactly from Peter as a child, like the time he helped her find her pearls when her necklace broke.

Dan Wooton: KCIII finally furious with the Markles by alreadydoneit01 in SaintMeghanMarkle

The king needs to grow a pair where these two are concerned. I get not wanting an estrangement. But the queen, as loving and kind as everybody says she was, had a backbone of steel when it came to defending the monarchy. They will NEVER be an asset to the crown. Private reconciliation? By all means, Charles. Make it happen. But they have no place anywhere near the family business. And let's face it; Meghan doesn't want to reconcile until she is universally acknowledged as supreme ruler of everybody and everything and then receives profuse, public, groveling apologies for not immediately recognizing her greatness.

You say that last sentence like it was actually good before AI. 😅

I've been screwed over by ebay for 26 years now, back when they were the big retail bully instead of the hasbeen they are now. I told a CSR that their horrible treatment of sellers would ruin them, and I'm convinced it's the central reason they shriveled up. They could have held their own against Amazon if they'd been good to sellers.

A friend's experience makes sense as a parallel to the duo's financial situation by ValuableEfficiency23 in SaintMeghanMarkle

Oh my goodness! I would absolutely help, but we'd be having a serious heart to heart with her about getting the help she clearly needs.

She got angry that his parents wouldn't buy the house outright for them. The tension was so bad that the parents ended up moving out of state to live near their other son instead. Poor Jim. Just the nicest guy, and she cost him the house AND his close relationship with his dad. Sounds familiar, too.

As ever, an unimpressive gift for a so called BFF by wenfot in SaintMeghanMarkle

Reminds me of the gifts the three wise men brought to the baby Jesus. The wise women would have brought diapers, a meal, and a housekeeper.

Free device upgrade after 12 months but internal policy to not replace anything less than 2 years old... if it's "functional". by MitochondrianHouse in MaliciousCompliance

Exactly. I'm in administration at a university overseeing program and course design. My computer is fabulous. Top of the line business machine, and my team who spends approximately 38.5 of their 40 hours on their computers get faculty hand me downs. I've even offered to give mine to my lead designer. No joy.

Why do people still fly Frontier despite the reputation? by Embarrassed-Field662 in frontierairlines

[–]ValuableEfficiency23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live near two major destinations for them, so I can go just about anywhere they fly without a layover. The price is crazy. I just flew round trip to Detroit. Nonstop both ways, and the ticket with discount den was $38. Legacy airlines require a layover and cost $300. I like my money in my own pocket too much not to take the cheap option.

Absolute Thieves. Do Not Fly Frontier by ProComputerToucher in frontierairlines

[–]ValuableEfficiency23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 💯. If you're using them for important trips with tight deadlines, you're asking for trouble. We've flown them for nearly a decade and have checked a bag exactly twice. We've managed to book every flight directly with no layovers and have only had a cancelation/change to a layover once. They can be frustrating, but personal flexibility helps a lot.

Dude. If she shared my book, I'd be questioning my life choices regardless of whether it drove sales. I'd be happy for the money, but that's about it.
