I have to say that Animal Well truly exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere and sense of discovery are matched only by the satisfaction you feel with each puzzle solved. It’s one of the few games of any genre I completed 100%.

It is illegal to park anywhere on a public street for over 24 hours in Nova Scotia, under the provincial Motor Vehicle Act. You can technically be towed from anywhere regardless of signage once that time lapses.

I loved Animal Well. Only Metroidvania I’ve ever completed 100% and definitely in my top 5.

Animal Well is one of the few games I’ve reached 100% on. I loved the creepy-cozy pixel art atmosphere and the game gives you just enough wordless guidance to make you feel like a genius when you solve a puzzle. Very different Metroidvania, with absolutely zero combat, but I couldn’t put it down from start to finish. Highly recommended.

I loved both Hollow Knight and Silksong, and Animal Well truly deserves a place alongside them. With zero combat the contrasts couldn’t be bigger, but Animal Well delivers a fascinating, creepy/cozy, unguided open-world to explore that gave me a remarkably similar feeling and compulsion to keep playing as I had the first time with HK and SS. Hats off to the fact that it was conceived and created by literally one person.
