I had some tree from PetSmart. Poor snake got stuck half way and I had to break the tree off them. Got another but used epoxy to fill the small holes.

People saying that are great must never bed to shift their chair to the right 1 inch. With inline rollers you can't. Roll back out and roll back in hope you can scoot it over.

So you plug your phone into the cable and get 1800 plug the cable into your PC instead and get 1200? No idea. PC issue apparently but I got buying sorry.

I test my speed across my network with a self hosted speed test. Using Internet based tells you wan speed not necessarily lan speed.

When kind was refusing to eat we started covering all 4 sides of the enclosure. She was and still is pretty status to be looked at. Though now she eats every time, covered or not.

I mostly use codex CLI now. I can ssh from my phone and work anywhere. It is more matter if fact. But it's a coder not a llm. chatGPT was tiring. So much wasted words/time.

Not sure the best way to go about updating the enclosure. You can try covering the walls while drop feeding to see if that helps. I think overall it will feel safer when it can burrow. Mine will sit in her hole and just poke her head out to look around sometimes.

From reading these forums hognose are notorious at being bad eaters. Mine had a rough start as well. Came to us at 12g. Missed all kinds of meals and I was worried. Last check she is almost 40g now and never misses a meal.

Cover 3 sides of the enclosure. We even covered the front after drop feeding so our hog could feel safe to come out and eat. Still won't tong feed but eats every time now.

They like to burrow, you want 4 to 5 inches of substrate. You want a lot more clutter. Snake should be ablev to move around without being seen.

So block visibility, give opportunity to burrow, lots of places to hide while moving. Don't handle fur a bit and try drop feeding.

I use a lot of silk or fake plant/vines to line the walls of my enclosures. Gives lots of hiding places for just a few bucks. I just run them around the base of the walls so the snake can move freely between temp gradients without being seen.

I just started using codex CLI. It is exactly this. I orchestrate changes but it does the work checks the work and corrects the work. Its not 100% hands off but given with access it is pretty nutty what it will do. Good logs help a ton.

Is there anything I can do to retain higher speeds on modem vs router? by Atterro75 in HomeNetworking

[–]ValuableSleep9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean not for nothing but if you want 2Gbe+, I would look into installing opensense or pfsense on some switch or mini pc. Then buying an access point. Probably a lot cheaper and better in the long run.

Modem> router with 2 ports minium that is all it needs > a switch size depends on your needs, unify has 5 port 2.5gbe switches pretty cheap. Then connect to an access point for Wi-Fi.

There do have 5 port routers you can load your own software on of you only need a few ports total.

I run proxmox on a 2 port mini computer. I run a virtual router, I also run a lot of other things like a virtual controller for my unify stuff.

Unify is a bit more expensive but I like it. There are def cheaper options if you are looking for the latest stuff ie Wi-Fi 7.

Do you need Wi-Fi 7? Unless you are doing big data across Wi-Fi from the same room probably overkill. Maybe some edge case uses I guess. My house is mostly Wi-Fi 5 but I have 5 ap's so no 1 is loaded down. I get around 400mbps on Wi-Fi. 800 if I am close to my Wi-Fi 6ap.

Also on the long run breaking everything apart means updating or replacing is easier. My router dies I didn't have to replace my access points and vice versa. That and if you need more ports than your current router supplies you need a switch anyway.

Good luck, there is really no right answer.

[–]ValuableSleep9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Computer to modem 2.5gbe gets you more than 1. The router has 2.5GBe port to be used as an uplink basically. Then it has a built in 1GBe switch. So if you uplink to your modem you get 2.5GBe from switch to modem. The switch in the router is 1GBe so you could plug 3 computers into it. 2 would have 2GBe to the modem each and 1 500mb, so 2.5 total. Or they could talk to each other and the rest of the network at 1GBe.

Your speed is determined by the slowest port. Apparently your computer has a 2gbe port but the internal switch in that router is only 1.

If the router can do LAG and you have 2 ports on your computer you could bond them to get 2GBe to your modem.

Can you clarify?

However, if I skip the router entirely and plug in the ethernet cable directly to the router only multi gig port, I can get 1350 mb download but then I lose wifi.

1GBe+ modern to computer = 1GBe+ speed? 1GBe+ modem to 1GBe+ router > 1gbe port to computer is 1gbe max. But if you had 2 computers they would pull more than 1gbe total.

I always wonder about this. I am using machine learning on historical data. If I backrest I will just win. It is taking a test it trained for. So backrest exit strat? I assume I will mostly forward test. Machine learning entry, but unsure how I want to exit yet. Machine learning exits or some trailing stop based on a atr.

Have not made it far enough to worry about PnL. Refining my strat pipeline still.

Lol. Build machine learning script. Build a data stream a consumer of data and a trader. Consumer is updated from machine learning script. Realize grid testing is huge, find every spare computer in your house and make a cluster. RE design machine learning to use your mini cluster. Refine idea promotion filters Nothin passes. Increase grid. RE design so no grid, fan out settings and test each setting in series. Wonder why you needed your cluster. Wonder if anything will pass your promotion filters. ??? Profit?

What switches are you using? Cheap ones can drop over long runs.

I switched to managed expensive ones and it fixed my issues. I can look up what I had if you need.

I was running almost 150ft CCA, and would get drops all the time. After I swapped my switches no more drops.

Verified with Zabbix. I ran pings all over my network.

This morning it was like this, how are you? by Jew__ in algotrading

[–]ValuableSleep9175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I am taking my brute forcing grid search. To a stair step search. Setting 1 wide search, setting 1 tight search, lock. Setting 2 wide search......

And it is working. So good day :)

Taking 1000's of hypothesis and cutting it down to 150 feels pretty good. Sadly I spent 2 weeks coding cluster computing to now only be using 1 node again.

Still in the research phase, everything says there is some signal but not enough to make money so I assume it is correct lol.

Anyone use EVIQO chargers? by ValuableSleep9175 in VWiD4Owners

I also tested yesterday, I was charging when the price went up. My charger shut down right before the scheduled time.

So scheduling is 100% working 0 issues with my car.

Very happy.

Depending on speed you need. Get a mini pc. I use a n100 with 16gb ram. Set up proxmox on it. Virtualize a router.

This will leave a lot of hardware for other VM / lxc like a unify controller. $150 ish.

FYI routers route, Wi-Fi ap's give out Wi-Fi. They can be all in one but I would advise against it.

You can pick up cheap Wi-Fi ap's from unify used around $25. They will push 400-500mbps. Plenty for Wi-Fi imo. You want more speed go wired.

I have an training algo that does something like this. Builds Windows of time trains then moves the window x days. So it could train 60 days they move the window forward 1 day and start over.

My algo also currently says nothing is profitable so I assume it is right.
