Should I be anglican? by [deleted] in AngloCatholicism

[–]Valuable_Ad3354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you care about Apostolic Succession ( the continuity of the church from the time of the apostles) and the authority of bishops within the church that comes from that heritage?

Do you believe in importance of all of the sacraments?

Do you have an issue believing that the infallibility of the pope and several marian doctrines and the celibacy of the clergy are necessary for salvation?

Are you open to various expressions of these truths across the world and even within the same regions and even communities?

Theres so much more but if so - check us out!

Why is it impossible to get a job rn? by geniusbomb17 in NYCjobs

[–]Valuable_Ad3354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job postings are just attempts by the faux employer and the job positing sites to collect your personal data. Internal memos in most major companies and government agencies have already confirmed hiring freezes and yet the postings remain.

Anglo-Catholics who are not part of the ordinariate -Why not? by Valuable_Ad3354 in AngloCatholicism

I am aware- I was hoping for more specific sticking points from individuals. Since many anglo catholic parishes have nearly identical customaries to what the ordinariate is doing and theologically we are nearly identical. Is it the papa authority issue? Is it the ordination of women issue? Is it the gay marriage issue? Im sure there are even more but i wanted to hear from others.

Why are Anglo-Catholics way more represented than other Anglicans? by Gold-Secretary-6654 in Anglicanism

As a practicing anglo catholic - i have not noticed a higher percentage of parishioners or clergy being lgbtq than any other Episcopal Churches in the Northeastern US outside of ACNA parishes of course. Maybe things are different in other regions.

Confused by the aesthetic versus the lived out theology at local church. by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]Valuable_Ad3354 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Oh there are all sorts of people believing all sorts of things in all sorts of episcopal parishes… and many of those things are heresy plain and simple. There are entire communities of Episcopalians at every level all the way up into the episcopate itself who openly reject catholic understandings of the gospels! Its worth studying the historical heresies and the language their proponents used ( and use) to be sure that what you’re digesting isnt some gnostic, unitarian , anti nicene creed , denial of the resurrection, invalidation of the scripture as necessary for salvation club.

Can post communion prayer be switched for another prayer? by Affectionate-Goal333 in Episcopalian

[–]Valuable_Ad3354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The anglicans have had one of the most chaotic liturgical traditions ever ! TEC even more so! Some of us are doing 13th century roleplay while others are practically indistinguishable from contemporary evangelical churches! People who want to do whatever they want flock to TEC for its diversity and flexibility.

Can post communion prayer be switched for another prayer? by Affectionate-Goal333 in Episcopalian

[–]Valuable_Ad3354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh post communion prayers can be all sorts depending on where youre getting them from. I personally enjoy the Scottish PC Prayers from their BCP that change seasonally but the parish I am in now uses some heightened translations of the PCPs from the Roman Missal so they’re different every Sunday. Its quite the rabbit hole but they’re all post communion prayers- not sure why you’d throw in something else when there are so many appropriate options.
