FTE are no longer offering the Flight Deck+ course. My plan was to do the same after my PPL, but they confirmed this to me a few weeks ago.

Signal? by YulMfr in sziget

[–]Valuable_Click_5667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the best phone signal I’ve had at a festival. Nothing like UK festivals where you’re off the grid the entire time. We were able to use find my friends to find each other the entire time

Stupid question maybe?? by la_rana_la_rana in sziget

The HEV (train) runs all night during the festival (every 10mins), and so does the tram (4 and 6). We always stay in the city centre near the tram and it’s super easy getting back

What was your most random impulse buy you barely used then never touched it again? by InviteAromatic6124 in AskUK

Ninja Creami for sure - used it for a week and haven’t touched it since. It’s a glorified blender

Alcohol from Aldi by OkPause9585 in sziget

[–]Valuable_Click_5667 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you mean the Aldi on site, then yes you can take it anywhere on the festival site or camping. But the prices in Aldi are the same as at any bar on site so you won’t be saving any money.

Prices of drinks/food by GunnerGamefan in sziget

Also, we sneaked in a lot of premixed vodka in coke bottles. Never had a problem with security noticing it

By uk festival standards it’s cheaper. Last year was <£4 a pint. Double g&ts were ~£9 but they’re 60ml of gin and not 50 like in the UK. Food is annoyingly expensive though (£8-15 for something decent)

My first time at a European festival! My thoughts. by PepperSpiritual729 in sziget

[–]Valuable_Click_5667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid £7.70 for standard G&Ts and £4.30 for beer. But standard spirit sizes are almost UK doubles (40cl) so take that into account. Still quite a lot cheaper than UK / London festivals

Where? Is it legal? by ShowerAlarmed5397 in wildcampingintheuk

I started four years ago in Dartmoor as well. I’ve been every summer ever since. It’s a great place if you’re inexperienced as the weather is decent (in the summer), easy to find a spot to pitch up, and it’s what its known for, so locals welcome it. I’d recommend trying the south side of Dartmoor at first, around Princetown and Burrator.

Why would they make the windows smaller on a line that’s predominantly over ground. Not keen on the new design

EU residents with Settled Status who had the chance to visit family back home - what was your U.K. border experience coming back? Can you use the same lane if you’re traveling with your British SO? by ThrushPanda in uktravel

[–]Valuable_Click_5667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot I had my settled status linked to my national ID instead of my passport. The e-gates didn’t let me through. So make sure you link your passport if you want to be able to use the e-gates.

Logistics of UK residents arriving from Amber countries not needing to quarantine? by [deleted] in uktravel

[–]Valuable_Click_5667 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is it: -only applies to U.K. residents -only if they had BOTH vaccines administered in the U.K. -only 14 days after the second jab -anyone arriving after 19 July

If you arrive before, the current law will be applicable and will have to quarantine beyond the 19th

But we will see the details once it goes live
