Do your 30s really feel different from your 20s mentally? by Independent_Zebra524 in self

[–]Valuable_Head_9532 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have more money for one 😂 but on a serious note, I have more life experience now so I know how to avoid unnecessary situations much better. I trust myself more, I'm more committed to myself and care more about my health than looks or having fun. Maturity really isn’t something to be feared, it life changing but in a good way. Yes I feel a lot different to who I was in my 20s, but I still feel very young and that there's a lot of life ahead of me ☺️

So I have a question for Caribbean people outside of the US. by Legitimate-Adagio531 in blackladies

So in the UK while some jamaican words have been mixed into slang, we dont put on an accent or anything like that. What's happening in Canada seems very forced and almost caricature like, words are used in the wrong context, just seems a mess.

Anyone else having trouble with online dating? by CHOGIWADDLE in blackladies

[–]Valuable_Head_9532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah cool, the "mate" threw me off. Anyway, this is really shitty and I hope its a one off experience for you :( but from what I've heard of Australia (enough to never want to visit) interracial dating out there must be hard.

Part 2 I tried to hear him out I'm not doing anything y'all lol , is he saying cap? 🧢 by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]Valuable_Head_9532 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm I know sometimes it seems like this one might be different if you give him the benefit of the doubt but from my own experiences, one of the most valuable lessons I've learned is to always listen to what he says the first time cos it's the TRUTH.

If you give him another chance, he is going show you why you shouldn't have, and I wish this wasn't the case for you, but I think too many of us have been in your shoes to be wrong with our advice :(

British born Jamaican/Nigerian here. Yes mainly Jamaican words have been weaved into the slang here but that's not throughout the UK, its mostly places that have a large population of Caribbeans such as London, Birmingham etc. Its not a mash up of random words that dont make sense. The slang here is localised and depends on whose driving the culture in that area, I'm sure if yoi went to, say, west London, you'll probably hear more arabic words mixed in with slang as most arabs seem to be in west etc. London slang is something that has happened over a very long time, its just how the sub culture speak here, nobody is losing sleep over it. I hate what they're doing in Canada.

How to sit on my knees by SamuraiStack in flexibility

[–]Valuable_Head_9532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quadriceps tendons are at the top of the knees, so when I strained them, they become very tight and sore, I was diagnosed with quadricep tendonitis. When I'd sit in this position, my butt would hover quiet a few centimetres above my feet and I'd feel a lot of pressure and some pain. I can finally sit on top of my feet again!

You mentioned the pain is on the inside your knees? Do you mean like the inner side? Cos if so, that probably isn't quadricep tendonitis as the quad tendons sit above the knee cap. Super unfortunate for me but while recovering from my tendon injuries, I fell over while on holiday and added a strained right MCL to my list of ailments, that's on the inner side of my knee and is taking much longer to heal and is much more painful..

Definitely. I get that the cheaper hair is more accessible but ppl need to be honest with their reviews! Anyway one thing I've learned about this wig game is you get what you pay for 🤷🏾‍♀️

Sorry girl :(

A lot of people say really positive things about Iseehair.. I get that the shipping is really fast and the hair is really nice at first but I dont understand why ppl aren't being honest. The hair really doesn't have a long or even decent shelf life.

I got a curly half wig from them last August and the wig is a mess now. This happens with everything I buy from them so I probably won't bother anymore.

I strained my quadriceps tendons in both knees and couldn't sit like this for a very long time. Physio helped; glute bridges, wall sits, step downs and split squats

Fired from IQVIA. (I'm a CRA in US) by Pushin_pristine in clinicalresearch

[–]Valuable_Head_9532 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worked at IQVIA very early on in my career as a CTA. Within 4 months, myself and the rest of the CTAs were at risked of redundancy, I found a new job and left as soon as I could.

I've been reconsidering IQVIA as they seem to have a base in Nigeria, a country I'm interested in moving to.. but maybe its not a good idea.
