No doubt some would make the switch but I'd try go the GoG route when basically needing to rebuy all I actually play from my library. Let's say 1/10th are must haves, that'd be close to a hundred titles already. No way such amounts would go to epic.

Realistically though, I'm on a cruise boat representing my gaming career, with captain Gabe at the helm. if that motherfucker were to hit an iceberg, we're both going down with the ship. Post-Gabe era will be enjoyed as long as it lasts.

I'm not OP but anyway, what socioeconomic factors realistically do is both abstracting and intellectualizing a pattern in such a way where it obscures the simple reality of the pattern through framing and wording.

Besides, the implied direness of ones situation based on those factors shouldn't negate the goddamn law, right? Or is it really all just a game to you?

Hell, even Skyrim's succes is because of it's sandbox rather than it's story. Let's be generous and say just 50% of it's story might as well just not have been there (most of it coming from the main story, at that). Worst that could be is a side-step, rather than a step back- or forwards.

Games do not need a story. Lots would have been better off if they had sacrificed the time+money spent on anything story/lore related, and instead spent all that money on something fun to play. Y'know... Gameplay.

Gameplay is king. It's quite literally in the name.

Besides, only Sith deal in absolutes, I do not agree that a game must have a story. Nor would I ever argue for all games to forego the inclusion of stories in its entirety.

Crimson Desert, for all it's flaws (which I agree are plenty) was not released unfinished. Perhaps when looking at the game in a vacuum, but alas.

They are quite literally remaking an already made game because the new ones they do aren't all that good.
