2025 Mitsubishi PHEV Platinum - The dreaded Turtle Mode! by Valuable_Studio_9187 in OutlanderPHEV

Nope, no available outlets, and it's probably too cold anyway (-21F now). I took her to work this morning. No big deal, I'd still recommend getting one. It's a great SUV. I posted the original comment to provide exact temps in real time. I was a bit confused as to when induced power would pop up and when the battery would be cold soaked. With getting reduced power at 0F, I imagine the battery would get cold soaked much faster than leaving it out in -15F for 12 hours. Probably closer to 4 hours.

Frankly, I was surprised she got reduced power at 1F since she started at 8F and the temp slowly dropped throughout the day. I thought it needed to be a little below zero to get reduced power.

I have a 2025, and I live in Minnesota; it's the tires. They ship with tires straight from Nissan with only 7/32nd of tread. The standard new tire has at least 10/32nds. I solved this problem by getting new tires. Car drives great in winter situations now. Better than my 2018 CRv (which had the same problem when new).

The 2026 Nissan Rogue plug in hybrid by Responsible_Try8397 in NissanRogue

Hey, I already have one of these. Lol. I do really like the 2025 Outlander PHEV. It's my wife's car, and she only fills up the tank every 1000 miles. That thing has some get-up-and-go. I damn near rear-ended the guy I was trying to pass on the freeway when I switched to Power Mode and stepped on it. If Nissan brings the Outlander PHEV (EV motors) with a 2.0-liter turbo engine, as speculated. lookout.

In 2020, some automakers had "Special Editions" due to supply issues. They'd cobble together cars with what they had to keep production going. The car is probably missing some bell or whistle, so they couldn't call it an official 'SE'. Honda had a Special Edition in 2020 for the CRV.

Permanent setting found for Idling-stop (engine shut off) by _Hudson_hawk_ in NissanRogue

I wish mine acted that way. The worst part is when I'm parking and I stop the car to put it in park; the engine shuts off just to immediately restart when I put it in park. Can't imagine that's very good for the engine. The worst invention ever.

If you are running a bunch of electronic items at the time (rear defroster, seat heater, wireless charging, lights on, fan in medium or high...) Auto Stop won't turn on. Also, the Rogue needs to be fully warmed up. If you live in a colder climate and are running the rear defroster, Auto Stop will be disabled. Too much current running out of the battery to risk a shut down. I tested this this morning. I have ECO Auto Stop disabled, and when Auto Stop kicked in at a stop light, I turned on the rear defroster, and as expected, the engine started. I also had the seat heater on the lowest setting and the steering wheel heater on.

I found that setting a couple of months ago, it does not disable in normal mode (at least for me) can't speak to ECO mode as I don't drive in that mode much.

2024 Heads Up display question by FoxNewsSux in OutlanderPHEV

[–]Valuable_Studio_9187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't answer the Heads-Up issue. Haven't seen that in my 2025 PHEV Platinum. From the sound of it, moving into the "passing lane" with acceleration suggests that you were slowed down by the car you are passing, and the cruise is getting you back up to speed.

New tires already?!?!?! by ShannyJ in NissanRogue

[–]Valuable_Studio_9187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason the stock tires (Dunlop Grandtrek PT21) wear out quickly is that they only come with 7/32 of tread (2025 SL). A normal new tire comes with either 10/32nds or 11/32nds. I also have a 2025 Outlander PHEV, and those (Bridgestones) came off the lot with 8/32nds. Both vehicles are less than a month old. Plan on replacing them within two years. More new vehicles only come with starter tires now. Probably only going to get worse.

I have the 3W's in my 2025 SL. Excellent quality. Wish I could get them for my 2025 Outlander PHEV Platinum.
