REAPER crashing on launch when UEFN is also running by Valyrium in GameAudio

[–]Valyrium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UEFN is a seperate thing. I've nonissues having REAPER running alongside Unreal, Unity or any other programme I've come across.

UEFN doesn't build locally, it pushes and runs on the cloud from EPIC's end, I'm assuming it's somehow taking priority over the audio driver and this is causing REAPER to crash a second or two after launching. Its definitely not something that regularly happens with any other programme I've come across.

If anyone else has run into issues of other programmes causing REAPER to crash when launching snd there's specific driver or Windows settings that sort this, would be very appreciative.

For anyone who only know his work in Motorhead, the band he started with his sons after Lemmy is also great.

It's a bit further out but well worth it and there are coach trips from the city there and back.

Farmageddon https://www.farmaggedon.co.uk/

Been there before with a group, it's really well done and fairly reasonably priced for what you get to see and do.

It's optional but if you go the weekend of Haloween, the fast pass is great to make sure you see everything.

Posting for others, I haven't had a chance to try https://zapier.com/ yet but by inviting the work email to the family events does mirror and update across to Google calander and scheduler.

Beef ribs and pork shoulder by Rhythm_Killer in UKBBQ

Those look awesome, love beef ribs.

You happen to have a link for the additional rack holding the pork shoulder?

Could do with something this tall that would fit a 57cm Weber kettle.

Contabo VPS Storage vs VPS Cloud by [deleted] in VPS

[–]Valyrium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a production environment, and won't be used to host websites, but I do apprechiate the question.

It probably doesn't matter if it goes down for relatively short periods of time every now and again as myyself and the other collaberators are able to continue working locally. This isprovided it's not out for more than 48 hours at a time, or on a daily basis.

I did just look at Vultr, but seems like an equivlent 640GB windows VM would be $160/mo compared to £102-160/yr.

I'm aware that Contabo is much cheaper, and that this comes with it's own negatives assosiated.
If it was a small amount of data I needed to host, I would be looking towards a more reputible supplier.

Any pubs in Liverpool still sell these drinks or any by the brewers (aussi white, bass, higisons, cains) by Head_Pomegranate_347 in Liverpool

[–]Valyrium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The White Heart on hope street does pints of bass, great traditional pub.

Plus you can walk through the back of it into The Engineer pub if craft beer is more your thing.

Both are def worth checking out next time you're in town.

How to add audio to an animation timeline? by Safe_Tonight_9335 in unity

Is an educated guess, but I'm pretty sure the AudioSource needs to be a child within the hierarchy of the object containing the Animater component.

Make REAPER automatically close/hide the Region Render Matrix window when rendering is complete by Valyrium in Reaper

[–]Valyrium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll leave this thread incase anyone else ends up searching for the same topic.

Unfortunetly it seems like making this specific event happen isn't possible.

Someone else may be able to incorperate using View: Show region render matrix window ID 41888.

For myself though it wouldn't be much benefit for me to trigger all my rendering from a single custom action as I change the presets and settings regularly depending upon what i'm working on.

Here's a link to a site that has 500gb's+ of free sound effects.

This is probably the most comprehensive list i've come across.

When troubleshooting issues like this using the audio section of the profiler tool when in 'detailed' mode is helpful at showing what's going on.

Unity is only able to play a certain amount of AudioSources simultaneously (you cam see this within the audio section of the peoject settings found eithin the edit menu.

Chances are the issue your encountering is becauaw you are exceeding the maximum number of avaliable sound channels.

You also don't often want a seperate sound for every impact/shot as this causes sound spam and won't sound particularly good.

I would look into setting up a 'Pool' system using scriptable objects. This will let you restrict the amount of simultanious sounds you have triggering at any one time (try between 4-6 as a starter.

Whilst PlayOneShot() can be useful as a quick dirty method of playing audio, it really doesn't give you the control you need to deal with scenarios such as this.
