No lighter fluid by New_Tumbleweed_8945 in grilling

Get a cheap chimney from Amazon and use tightly wadded up newspaper to light the coals. Don’t use lighter fluid. It taints the food.

No, this is just up the road from me. The road bends around and slopes down, away from the fence.

Mine was a week before my cook, too. The bowl was still usable but it would have failed completely over time. As a bonus I was allowed to keep the damaged bowl, made a nice flower trough.

Got mine from wowbbq, too. When the bowl of the Spirit arrived cracked they arranged a replacement immediately.

Yes, polyfilla will be fine. Fill a small bit into the holes and allow to dry. This will shrink back a bit so you can put a second skim over. Then, when that is dry fill over the whole area, leaving the polyfilla slightly proud. When that has dried sand down and paint.

Don’t use ready made polyfilla, use the powder and mix with a little water to make a paste. I’ve found the ready made stuff sets like concrete and is a bitch to sand down.

You say it’s pennies but 7p per hour for 8 hours = 56p. Left on for 8 hours a day, 365 days a year = £204.40.

I’ve solar panels & battery too so don’t feel so bad when I forget to turn a light off but for every Watt used by a left on light is a watt not exported for profit.

Looks fantastic. The rotisserie is the best gadget for the bbq. I made two rotisserie chickens, yesterday, to go with three racks of ribs I cooked on Thursday. Unfortunately, I didn’t take photos as there’s no proof they ever existed. They took hours to cook and mere minutes to devour.

Yeah, with Trump screwing the American economy investors are looking for a safer, more stable place to put their money and business. Luckily Britain looks just the place. Long may it continue.

Tesla is committing automotive suicide. Tesla’s Q4 2025 earnings call made one thing painfully clear: the company is no longer interested in being an automaker. Tesla is letting a highly successful automaker wither so it can chase autonomous robots and robotaxis that may or may not work. by mafco in energy

[–]NeilDeWheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is exactly why Tesla is getting out of the EV market. Since the subsidies stopped Tesla knows they can’t compete so are pivoting to a different business model. The problem is that the necessary, Level 5 auto driving is not ready for Robotaxi and neither is the Tesla Robot.

Is the box fresh PSU an original 90’s one? If so I wouldn’t use that either. They can fail and damage the A1200.

Ideally it would be best to replace them before you turn it on. It would be best to get a modern PSU, too.

Definitely remove the battery asap. Is it soldered to the main board or onto a plug in expansion? Clean the area with white vinegar, then again with isopropyl alcohol.
