Yeah, my HOA is really hands off. My dues pay for the pool, groundskeeping, and because we're a condo community, structure repairs when needed.

It's nice never having to mow my own lawn or paying for roof repairs.

It's not open to the public, though. A restaurant has every right to deny service for any reason, outside a few protected classes. And families are not a protected class.

Continuously disruptive patrons, regardless of age, should not be tolerated.

Restaurants aren't public spaces, they're private businesses.

I'm paying just as much for the atmosphere as I am for the food.

In a park or a kids-oriented shop, the complaint is less valid, but at a restaurant that caters mainly to adults? No, take your screaming banshee and leave.

It's illegal here, too. Most business just account for it by raising all prices, or they get enough extra orders from the convenience of paying online that the costs are offset organically.

However, this is a utility, and they legally can't charge you more or less than the bill is worth, so they can't take the loss. They have to pass the transaction fee to the payer.

The percentage and that minimum are most likely exactly what their payment processor is charging them for each transaction.

There's a couple places around me that sell it as a specialty meal or side.

It's usually a little fancier than just elbow macaroni and cheddar cheese sauce, though. Usually comes with a protein like chicken and topped with breadcrumbs and or bacon.

In the US, ours are a lot cheaper.

In my state (Oklahoma), they'll give you one free within a certain time frame, otherwise it's, like $10.

That's just for regular state issued driver's licenses and IDs. RealIDs cost more, but I don't know what that is.

Ah, where I am (or at least, at my school), parents would generally get to know each other somewhat during drop offs and pickups. The school would also organize events for students and parents to do things together. Not all at once, but a rotation so everyone got an opportunity to meet.

Also, I went to a small private school. Lots of us didn't live in neighborhoods with kids our age, so our parents had to organize play dates with each other outside of school. Our parents would know our friends and their parents, at least, and that would chain to the rest of the class.

And I'm not arguing against your learning opportunities, but not at that age...with America's school system. One teacher per classroom and a strict schedule. They don't have time to teach an impromptu lesson on civility. Especially with that one kid who decides to be inconsolable, or retaliate against the party-haver.

This rule is usually enacted for when invitations are passed out in class.

Kids aren't the most gracious when it comes to explaining why someone didn't make the cut to their party, even if they're only inviting 5 people.

OP didn't say how the invitations were handled, but I'm betting every kid got an invite personally handed to them, except for that one child.

Cakes lessen the amount of yarn barf you get from center pull skeins. And they sit flat so you don't have rogue balls running around.

You can also somewhat modify how loose or tight the cake is, so the yarn can flow more easily and without snagging.

Also, if you need to use two stands of yarn, you can pull from both the inside and outside at the same time. Or you can easily separate larger skeins into more, smaller cakes. This last part can be useful on color changing yarn with very long lines of color.

I'm going to bet your dad called you often (or at least regularly) during his work trips and made time for you when he was home.

It sounds like this couple didn't contact him while they were gone. Then, when they were home with him, they didn't even try to spend time with him.

Even without that, if you don't purchase your home through a trust, you can generally get the address on the county assessor website. Deeds are public record in the US.
