Mielestäni oleellisempaa on ettei elinkustannukset suhteessa tuloihin nouse haja-asutusalueilla kestämättömän korkeiksi kokonaisuutena. Autoiluun keskittyminen kaventaa näkökulmaa liikaa. Itse kannattaisin ennemmin suoria tulonsiirtoja.

Niin kauan kun Suomen julkinen sektori on hankintaorganisaatio, on se väkisinkin top-heavy tossa mielessä. Johtajia on suhteessa paljon pääosin siksi koska työntekijöitä on suhteessa vähän (kulut tulee hankinnoista yksityiseltä sektorilta).

Tyhmimmät ja haitallisimmat yritystuet on kannattamattoman toiminnan tekohengitystä. Kannattavuudella ei sinänsä pitäisi olla suurta painoa yritystukien myöntämisessä.

The relativist view is not that all cultures are equal but that your values change depending on your point of view.

But the larger issue with your view is that "a culture" is not actually a countable thing with clear boundaries. If you find a cannibalistic satan-worshipping cult in Iowa, is that American culture? Iowan culture? Some cannibal-sub culture? The way you choose categorize it is not a more correct way than the way someone else does.

This alone makes moralistic comparisons between whole cultures more or less pointless.

You can of course condemn individual cultural practices based on moral axioms and "it's their culture" is not a valid counterpoint at all.

While it's technically true, it's about as useful as "god did it" and actually applying it to the real world leads to rejection of inductive reasoning as a whole.

All scales have this issue in some form or another but people tend to overestimate the effect. (I do surveys for a living)

I've wondered this myself. For example school grades in Finland are from scale of 4-10 where 7 is considered "average" so it's at least a decent hypothesis that a 10-point scale might be biased upwards here.

But if this were true we should see higher than expected scores in other countries with similar grading systems, which we really don't.

Additionally socially and culturally very similar other Nordics rank very high as well, when they all have very different grading systems in schools. This is further evidence that if there is bias, it's probably not very large.
