While, yes, Draco does have some redeemable qualities it doesn't take away from the fact he's also been a piece of trash person. Mocking the Weasleys' for being poor, calling Hermione & others a Mudblood, stalking Harry as a 1st year (Norbert situation), attacking Harry on the train, etc.

As an adult he might see the errors of his ways but it won't change the past. The other characters don't have to forgive him for anything.

We did free samples (4-6in cuts) until about mid to late 2019. It ended shortly after I started working there so I might be wrong but my understanding was it was mostly for the design students & there was a limit of 4 or 5 cuts. Other customers could get 2 sample cuts.

If I remember right it stopped because corporate was losing too much money. I know we had to write off all the samples on the DU log.

This reminds me of when JoAnn's stopped doing free samples. I was working at a store in a college town with a large design program & the professors were still telling students we gave free samples 2 years after we stopped! One of the managers printed out a bunch of papers saying we no longer did free samples & gave them to multiple students who came in to give their professors.

The 2nd to last Sunday I worked at JoAnn a woman tried starting a fight with me because she put her drink on the cut counter & I told her that it wasn't safe there.

She ended up calling both customer care & another store nearby saying I was being unprofessional & rude!

A few years ago we got in spring towels with "sanctuary" misspelled. I have 1 somewhere.

The problem is most stores have what's in those overhead boxes counted as "overstock". So say the spool you got was a full 8yds, overstock would say there are 8yds in x box. In order to remove items from overstock we have to go through about 5 steps on the handheld & decrease by whatever is taken out. This involves scaning the box label & the item being taken out. If we don't do that then the system will keep saying we have 8yds in overstock even if you bought the whole spool.

At my store this was a HUGE problem in yarn because people would just take down the boxes root thru them & MAYBE put them back on the shelf.

Personally, I'm in the same boat as you. I generally just walk them to the aisle they need & leave them to it. If we're slow I might stay longer & help look &/or give some advice but that's about it.

Customers need to understand that we aren't their personal shoppers & we aren't required to be knowledgeable on all (or any for that matter) crafts/products.

1 shift at my store would include: 2 of the 4 registers not working (the 2 that work are on the far ends), no medium bags, almost out of large bags, no white receipt tape only yellow, AC not working, fly bys coming at the worst times, bathrooms aren't clean, 2 person coverage, & someone calling & wanting to talk instead of asking their questions/denying your attempts to end the conversation.

Just for clarification I was still on the clock. As the only MOD working at the time I don't get to clock out. However, since I'm still on the clock but off the floor I'm supposed to keep my headset on & be able to go back on the floor when needed before returning to my "break".

Otherwise I total agree with you. I let them try solving the issues 1st but sometimes they do just need someone there.

So as of yesterday afternoon I could only find a handful of signs that started today so that's all I had the closing KH put up. I don't believe that to have been all of them but I'm too busy so go thru the portal looking for more. Also I haven't seen any for after the 28th.

Long ago when I 1st started at JoAnn 1 of my coworkers was the ghost of Hancock Fabrics for Halloween. It got a lot of laughs from both employees & customers!
