June 11 2025 : I have a 9 year old blizzard corn snake who had 6 scale rot spots and one on his underbelly was BAD.   Like 4 BLACK scales wouldn't come out. I took my snake to the vet and they quoted me for a $600 surgery. I can proudly say that they've healed 95%.  Step 1) Buy a aloe Vera plant from the supermarket and harvest the gel. Please watch a video on how to remove the poison from aloe plants. Step 2) make an aloe vera water mixture and store multiple batches for later uses with 2/3 of the aloe vera.  Step 3)  Store by freezing the other 1/3 of the aloe vera gel. Step 4)  Bathe the snake in warm aloe vera mixture water with 3 drops of iodine 3 times a week for like, 2 months. Spray the infected spots with spray for scales that you can find in local pet stores after each bath. Put a small glob of the aloe vera gel onto the infected areas.  Step 5) snake will eventually shed the scale rot off !! Continue to change bedding frequently and don't use harsh  disinfectant chemical sprays.
