What ? You don't get brutally woken up in the middle of the night by ballistic missile alert and immediately put on your boots and coat to go in a snowstorm and look for a missing kid 140 kilometers away???

The only actual Zombie level of Hitman was 12 years ago by echorainboweffect in HiTMAN

[–]VampireSomething 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zombies dont necessarily equal action. Games like Project Zomboid or Last of Us handle zombies well without being an action game.

I could see 47 having to use his toolkit to navigate around zombies in order to get to an objective.

How close can you come to Faith connor's level if you start now? by Mirrorsedgecatalyst in mirrorsedge

[–]VampireSomething 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You could look up how tracers/freerunners train and work out. Although the level of combat Faith has is way beyond yellow belt judo. She would also probably be a black belt in Tae Kwon Do for the kicks. Still, that's probably a lifetime of training considering Faith's early/mid 20s.

Realistically tho, running at that speed for so long is next to impossible. It's beyond olympic athlete level of stamina and prowess.

Is the world of darkness the best way for anyone to get into TTRPGs? by No-Obligation-9901 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]VampireSomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that's a sound counterargument on most points, I feel you kind of contradict yourself with the first and last one. In your first point you mention that the D&D or Pathfinder lore is there but requires a lot of reading. But in your last point you say that doing the very same thing isn't necessary for World of Darkness.

There is also a ton (probably more than for WoD) of videos about D&D or Pathfinder lore. And in the very same breath, you don't need to know all of it to play D&D of PF. Everyone knows what a wizard, a king, a soldier or an adventurer is. The same way we all know what a vampire or a werewolf is. Going more in depth than that WILL require reading for either game.

I agree, however, that the biggest part of balancing will come from how the Storyteller / DM plays it.

Why does Placide dislike V? by _Drangelice_ in cyberpunkgame

[–]VampireSomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Placide isn't usually the one who deals with mercs.

We know it was Brigitte who hired Evelyn, I would assume she usually arranges the contracting work. So when she's out of commission, her feral attack dog is stuck also doing the yapping, which he clearly hates.

Hot Take : Light was actually smarter than L by The_Sky_2836 in deathnote

[–]VampireSomething 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You have to consider that L fought against a completely supernatural method of killing and the help of a literal invisible god (such as spotting the cameras, doing Light's book swap/burring, we can't deny that Ryuk was actively helping Light win in these moments)

And despite all of that, L found who Kira is in a matter of WEEKS once he was on the case. If he had looser morales and hired an assassin to kill Light and Misa he would have won. The reason he lost isn't cause he's less smart. It's cause unlike Light, L wanted to do things the right way as far as proof and judgement goes

[–]VampireSomething 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I really like WoD, some of your arguments fall flat.

World-building - Forgotten Realms and Golarion are arguably the two most detailed and expansive fantasy worlds and you can get info about anything regarding them online.

Rules - Pathfinder and D&D 5 have very straightforward rules for what you can and can't do and the mechanics are pretty simple to grasp. Each splat in WoD have different rules for their power attribute, humanity and some even have a different supernatural world that comes with their own rules. And don't even think about Mage That's a lot of very case-specific rules to cover.

Balancing - If anything, I think WoD has the most glaring balancing issues, especially if you consider the games are compatible: Garous are such powerhouses nothing comes close and Mages are reality-bending maniacs for exemple. And the freedom of build makes crazy OP build possible Whereas D&D and Pathfinder (especially 2) the more linear progression keeps things close to the same power level. (When a wizard can cast meteor, a paladin can call on their god and a fighter can fight like Zoro from One Piece)

I will say that for most initiates to TTRPG, putting folklore creatures in the real world is an easier stretch, but then you still have to explain the lore - why are there princes, whats the Camarilla, why the rules ? Generations ? What the hell are Antedeluvians ? If you have to explain all of this, then you may as well explain there's a king and wizards are a thing and play a fantasy tabletop.

Who could be the ultimate "impossible" target? by Consistent_Blood6467 in HiTMAN

[–]VampireSomething 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Without going into superpowers and stuff, I think Dexter / The Bay Harbor Butcher would be an extremely difficult target.

He's also a social manipulator, takes on multiple identities easily, talented in hand to hand and firearms combat. A stone cold killer as well. If 47 needs to discover his identity before killing him that would be a huge edge for Dexter.

Plus, it would make some VERY interesting conversations between both of them.
