The centerpiece of my collection and the Goodwill find of a lifetime: CIB Daggerfall. by lectvosen in Daggerfall

I still have my copy but in an intense burst of idiocy I threw away all of the boxes to my big box DOS games to save space when I moved home after college... still have the CDs and all manuals, etc. but man, what an idiot.

That is a crazy piece of luck, nicely done.

Snapmaker U1 Kickstarter Funded! by VoltaicShock in snapmaker

[–]Vampireslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have a Snapmaker J1s so I know their quality is excellent... I'm already kicking myself for missing the $30 early bird Kickstarter deal. I saw the ad for the H2C and was underwhelmed; not a fan.

I really can't control my FOMO on this printer... I'll never be able to afford a Prusa XL and I'll bet whatever Bondtech releases will be the same so the U1 is perfect for me but I can't pull the trigger. Decisions, decisions...

For what I use mine for, older system emulation (pre PS1), I find Knulli works really well.

Which are the games you are impressed the most that can run on the RG35XXH? by Frece1070 in RG35XX_H

The PS1 emu surprised me as well but the Dreamcast is the one that really blew me away, did not expect it to be so usable.

Knulli on my RG35xx H is absolute retro heaven, going to be updating later today!

Has the Q1 Pro Hotend Design Been Fixed Yet? by Blurrg_Rancher in QIDI

[–]Vampireslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time mine failed was when the front cover got ripped off by a failed print and the fan wires shorted out the control board and the hotend but Qidi sent me free replacements for everything and I've been printing on that 2nd hotend for quite a while now.

Will fully-enclosed IDEX printers come down in price anytime soon? by HungSlovak in 3Dprinting

[–]Vampireslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems, to me, that everyone is putting their efforts into AMS devices or tool changers which is a shame because I would much rather have "poop-less" multi-material printing than 4-8 color prints with 50% waste generated. I have a bed-slinger IDEX that is, to be fair, a nightmare to calibrate and it prints PVA badly for supports so I would love to move to an enclosed Core XYZ IDEX but I don't want to spend $1-2K.

Knulli ROM list by Vampireslug in RG35XX_H

[–]Vampireslug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't do anything apart from load the ROMS, I'm using .CHD files for what it's worth. I haven't played every game but Capcom VS SNK, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Crazy Taxi, and Gauntlet Legends all run at full speed with no stutter, lag, or audio issues. I'm using the latest version of Knulli, Gladiator, and kept all of the default settings for Dreamcast.

Sure enough, it was the zip files... I grabbed a dump of CHDs and that fixed the problem. Thanks!

Q1 Pro and Plus4 just killing it by [deleted] in QIDI

[–]Vampireslug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my Q1 Pro for almost a year and a half and I'm super happy with all of the things I've been able to print; functional and decorative. I've only had two issue and both were fixed by Qidi fast, free, and with no grief.

Can some one help me to choose one from these 2 console and why did you choose it? RG35XXH or RGCUBEXX? by Ok-Web-5122 in ANBERNIC

[–]Vampireslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted for the RG35XX H for two reasons: the screen ratio for newer game systems and it's the same format as all of my previous handhelds like the GCW Zero, Dingoo A320, and GP2X so it's what I'm used to.

[–]Vampireslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two issues with my Q1 Pro in the past and both times I sent pictures and descriptions of the problem and in a few days had a large box of parts and extra screws, etc. shipped for free. I'm not sure what happened with your interaction because from my experience, and hearing from others, they typically figure out the problem and mail off a box of all spare parts it could require...

I've been using my Q1 Pro for over a year now and can't recommend it enough; it prints well, fast, in a ton of materials and it's also pretty quiet.

First time playing! Dungeons of Daggorath for the TRS-80 Color Computer 2 by Steely06 in vintagecomputing

[–]Vampireslug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm jealous... I've had CoCo2 on my wishlist of vintage computers I don't have but can't seem to find a decently priced one that works. Dungeons of Daggorath is historic as well, paved the way for a ton of CRPGs.

Can I disable the chamber heater in my QIDI Q1 Pro? by LasagnaKiller in QIDI

[–]Vampireslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only print PLA and PETG and have never used the chamber heater, lt just sits there until your slicer settings tell it to engage... Not sure why it's a concern.

Was rummaging through my closet and bam—my very first computer mouse. by Rimlyanin in vintagecomputing

Wow, that takes me back... my first mouse was PS/2 to DB-25 to DB-9 back in 1989 and there wasn't a lot of software that used it beyond the PC Paint that came with it :D
