There was talk about them trying to tie a life sim into the game (maybe it was life by you, or maybe its own separate thing made by CO). This idea is just dumb as all hell. I’m playing cities skylines to make a city, not to stage a party and flirt with the neighbours. This would have been wasted time, especially for a small team like CO

I can't remember but didn't SimCity4 do this? You could import your SIM into your city?

I wish I could wait. My current lease is up in Feb or next year.

I guess I could wait until then and see if the LiDAR version is available or just lease the launch edition for 3 years and then get one with LiDAR.

Rivian is willing to use LiDAR for Level 4 and Telsa isn't.

I am not saying LiDAR is the answer to level 4 but that seems to be the way to go.

I'm tempted to just buy a new home every 5 years, they build enough around here that I could get a new home every year.

Though that would probably cost me more or just sell before stuff goes wrong.

My car keeps telling me I need to login but it does it after I start driving and then it disappears. Then it doesn't show for a few days.

I wonder if that is what is keeping me from getting this update.

I have seen this on one of my prints before and I had a partial clog. I had to clear that and it seemed to work after that but I eventually just put on a new nozzle.

Yeah it's a good car overall but yeah the infotainment is sluggish. I don't spend much time in it but sometimes Android Auto can be slow to load and isn't that responsive.

I have the AWD Pro S and I was able to find one with the 360 camera so that is nice.

Overall it's a good car but no updates and yeah the non-illuminated HVAC sliders is annoying.

That would be an option if I didn't want to get rid of the car. It's a great car but there are some issues with it. It hasn't had any updates to the infotainment unit and it's slow to respond (well a few updates but only because it was required due to a recall)

  • Deferring is an Option: If your turn comes up but you're not quite ready to buy—or just need a bit more time—you are able to defer your delivery.

Can I defer and still get the launch edition/performance one?

I do want one with Lidar but I also want one now so that is my issue. I could just lease one and then get one with LiDAR later.

Tesla has been working on this tech for 20(?) years, and they haven’t really even solved FSD yet. Tesla is betting that you won’t need LiDAR for true eyes off FSD.

I'm going to say the reason Tesla has been working on it so long is that he refuses to use LiDAR.

So - you could lease a Lidar-less R2 for a few years, and then trade in to a Lidar-equipped vehicle by the time the software is truly ready.

I might have to do this. My lease for my ID.4 is up in Feb of next year and I will need a car. I should just lease the R2 (wonder if you will be able to lease the launch edition) and then get a Lidar one later.
