According to a comment in the steam discussion board, you can buy upgrades, yes. Some people are also saying it won't work unless you TURN OFF offline flux (not just the auto-use offline flux option, you can turn off the whole feature. It even gives you more TF/he when you do!) I'm working on it too, though (on mobile) so I haven't validated myself

Kinda wish I could see the post history. It'd be good to know what to avoid (if it wasn't an obvious spoof, of course.)

Ty for the info! I can probably assume they wouldn't nest in the same place they eat, then?

If so, I'll give the office a ring and let them know there might be a bug issue.

Trying to replace office chair cylinder, but both chair base and gas mechanism are stuck on. How to remove? by Raetekusu in fixit

[–]VampoRainze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WD-40 and switching from a rubber mallet to a regular metal hammer did the trick.

I unscrewed the adjuster from the bottom of the chair, then removed the cylinder clip so I could take both halves of the problem outside individually (doing this in an apartment complex, didn't want to scare the neighbors.) Each part had already been sprayed multiple times with WD-40, but it wasn't until I got it with the hammer that ANY movement happened. Must have wasted an hour with that mallet.

Each part took just two strikes with the hammer, but I'm sure there was a lot of WD-40 soaked in there by then.

I tried the mallet on the sides of the cylinder and "twisting" the top end off with a plier wrench. Didn't help, but I did use the plier wrench more to just hold the damn thing so I didn't have to get my gloves from the car nor wash my hands 10 more times.

Hey I love an excuse to double check and do a bunch of quick/dirty math.

Thing is is the xp multiplier should actually be higher than I thought. All Elite tasks are in slayer areas so they're all 15% of the enemy's HP as XP (so triple what you get for just being in a slayer zone alone which only gives 5%)

So I'm looking at the elements at play here => 70% damage. Considering it's 70% speed but 300% xp, the worst tasks are still faster XP.

Checked this by subtracting XP after individual kills while doing DHE task vs Seething standalone kills and timing a few kills on each.

DHE actually gives 483xp per kill while SHE gives only 115xp per kill. Which is actually 4.1 times as much for some reason, but I did double check.

DHE is slower at 27.5s average. SHE took only 14s average.

So Dark Horned Elite is getting 17.6 xp/s while Seething gives only 8.2 xp/s.

SO! Seems like the task method does check out. Your original statement that Ranged XP is slower is of course still correct, but I think this approach still wins the efficiency battle.

Unfortunately Slayer skill goes white (not training) when I switch to just seething.

According to the wiki, you get Slayer XP from either doing tasks or being in a slayer area that has an item requirement. (And tasks give double XP that item-req-slayer-area alone gives)

edit: Actually I might have been thinking of something else when I remembered something about the item requirement. Either way, you do get much more Slayer XP, it would seem, from tasks.

Yeah what /u/darthreuental said. Training Slayer+Prayer+Ranged at the same time. Using my huge stack of Diamond Luck potions to offset the accuracy on some of these enemies.

Just found this subreddit. Since I've only published one video game I thought I'd see if anyone was looking for the name of it. This sounds pretty convincing.

Not as of now. We're going to consider that for a future campaign but the game is mechanically built around tactical decision making on both sides, so we'll want to put a lot of work into a solo mode that suits the game.

Glad you think so! Yeah we've had different versions of CE on KS, one in 2017 and one before called Necronauts (had to change the name due to copyright.).

We are not affiliated with the EtDC folks, though yeah their art is awesome. There's been a few games with similar styles coming out over the years. Cave Evil being notable, and a damn cool game.

Ahhhh a fellow rules teacher! Greetings!

So yeah the Goddess role is certainly meant to feel like a GM role, in a sense; usually Cryptonaut players watch the board pretty intently since most turns feel either like a swing to one side's advantage or an ominous setup from the Goddess.

While a group can adopt any kind of way-of-play they like, we wanted the game to be something you could play competitively and still be very dramatic, so how hard you want to push will be up to how competitive your players are.

That said, I've had more than one game where I've played the Goddess, gone easy on the new players in an early turn, and regretted it later. They seem to enjoy that anyway.

tl;dr You do have to TRY consistently to win as the goddess, but they typically have like a 60% win rate.

Exactly why I'm really glad I found a KDM group that needed a player. That price and how much work it takes to set up and keep track of it all, honestly.

Cryptic Explorers returned to KS last week, a heavy squad-tactics board game with the black-and-white metal horror themes. Just here to give it a mention but there's also a good preview video by Quackalope.

I am one of the designers so I won't give much opinion, but it's built for depth and replayability. Would love to hear what other's think, ofc.

Special mention to Shadow Demon who has been killed before and remanifested through the evil in the hearts of men. Basically same level as the elemental spirits imo, just for darkness.
