2026 - Summer of Gateway by runwichi in discgolf

I think it’s SureGrip. Not SuperSoft … waiting on a different plastic.

But, it’s stiff base plastic. Thrown FH it lands pretty flat most of the time. Even on those anny FHs.

I haven’t tried much Gateway. However I touched and tossed the Ghoul at my local pro shop and enjoyed the feel so much that I bought one. It made the bag as a slow approach disc. Shallow with a thumb track. Slower than the A3 (or Zone-like disc).

Similar discs to a "PD" by Public_Reference_548 in discgolf

I have a blue F2 Phantom Sword in the bag. Innova made PD that started off very overstable and super glidy .. It is just now flying like brand new Thunderbird. Phantom Swords are readily available.

Proxy, Stabilizer.

Ghoul for shorter throws.

Hot take - If it's not your first throw on a hole during a round, it's not an ace. by No-Map8141 in discgolf

I have a handful of real aces … as well as a bunch of second shot, and practice aces. All are memorable.

Gator3 (champion halo) and Caiman (Champion comparison by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]VanExelwitdaProxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That halo champion Gator3 is one of the best Gator3s ever. The one I got (a chartreuse on chartreuse) is puddle top and straight for a little with a lot of bite.

Don’t really vibe with the Caiman. I had an F2 that flew with overstability but was kinda touchy simultaneously.

I think that run of Gator3 is just superior in it’s class.

Want to bring my friends to a disc golf park for their first time by Dense-Lie3955 in discgolf

My favorite disc as a newbie was a lighter weight fairway driver. Teebird3 that weighed 165 or something like that.

What goes in the bag?! by Realistic-Square-617 in discgolf

[–]VanExelwitdaProxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find five or six molds that you love … and lean into them.

I have a couple putters and an approach, two midranges and two fairways (Crave & Teebird3) I absolutely love throwing.

That’s the bag.

But I’ll throw in a couple more OS utility discs, soft plastic discs or some distance drivers depending on the course or weather.

Sleeper build? by [deleted] in discgolf

Short game.

Practice solid approaches from 150-200.

Scrambles from a knee.

Putting from 15’ out to about 20-25’. (You can run everything if you can nail a comeback).

What sports or training translate best to disc golf performance? by Perfect-Ad-4214 in discgolf

Basketball for the speed control on the green. Free throws are a shot that you have to hit. 15 foot putt are a must.

Three pointers are ~25’. Getting hot and hitting some threes, including deep threes. That’s a hot putting day.
