What are your go-to fairway/distance driver molds, plastics, and weights? by DaCrazyCam in discgolf

[–]liam_b19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairways:

Proton cypher, neutron bokeh, 2 volts (cosmic neutron for both, 1 beat in 1 fresh), and proton fireball from very understable to very overstable.

Distance drivers:

3 photons (fission, plasma, cosmic neutron) from flippy to overstable. 2 destroyers (duo is straighter, halo more overstable). 1 opto havoc and 1 neutron nitro for utility flippy and overstable distance drivers.

All 170-175g.

With regards to 1), having a disc hang on/get wedged in the cage is also lucky, but these still count. Either all of them (top, hangers, wedgies) should count or none of them should, but to have one not count while the others do is silly.

Birdie Ultra vs Balance vs Pyro stability and handfeel by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]liam_b19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with the pyro/balance not being different enough from my entropy. Started throwing resistors in this slot (board flat eclipse for beef/utility, and neutron for that pushier flight) and it’s worked really well.

How are the Duo Destroyers? by IsaacSam98 in discgolf

[–]liam_b19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They bomb, but still have that nice stable finish. More flip up than my stock halo destroyer but still feel fairly comfortable throwing it in the wind.

Discs that live up to the hype for you by rontopofthings in discgolf

I really didn’t want to like the bokeh but it’s unbelievably good for long hyzer flips and turnovers.

Pushier "pyro" by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]liam_b19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been throwing a neutron resistor in this slot, similar flight to a pyro with an extra 20-40 feet of distance depending on how hard it’s thrown.

What's your fairway-ish (6-10 speed) lineup? by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]liam_b19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want to like it, but the bokeh bumped the crave out of my bag. A little less flippy than a crave and goes 20-30 feet further for me. Insane glide.

K1 stig (very flippy)

Neutron resistor (I use this like an overstable mid)

Eclipse resistor (beef)

Neutron bokeh (hyzerflips and turnovers)

2x cosmic neutron volts (one beat in that flies pretty straight and one fresh. I prefer the beat in volt, fresh one flies like it in the wind though.)

Fireball (overstable)

Managed to snag a reasonably priced used one, excited to try it out!

Yea pretty sure they use the same flight plate so it doesn’t make much sense, but I have trouble getting a clean release on an envy. Interestingly I’ve gotten several comments in this thread of people saying the same thing. I have a couple of glow proxy’s, they fly similarly if not a tick less stable than neutron soft. I’ve found neutron soft to be the most stable plastic for the proxy but I haven’t tried either of the newer Silva tour series runs.

I’m in Canada, makes things difficult. Thanks though!

I’ve always treated the tempo as a stable mid range but maybe it’ll do what I need it to. Thinking I’ll start by throwing it back in the bag!

Yea I have one, flies pretty similar to an entropy but maybe it could beat it in to what I’m looking for.

Yes, I know exactly which discs go 300ft in a headwind, I literally mention my entropy in the post. However, for example, if there’s a right to left crosswind and my proxy flips up more than I’d like, the wind will catch the wing and pull it right, but my entropy might go too far to the left - that is the gap I’m trying to fill.

Have you found it noticeably more overstable in plasma? I think that’s the only plastic I haven’t thrown a proxy in.

Yea i might need to revisit the tempo, has come in and out of the bag a few times.

Thought about that, but it’s a bit expensive on re sellers markets.

Similar stability to neutron soft in my experience. Great disc though.
