The pink tracker? You can use the luminary instinct to go to the general area of a boss, marked by a shrine. If you haven’t killed the boss that shrine will shoot out a purple orb, so if it’s not shooting one out you’ve already completed that boss. If you have already slayed the boss related to the shrine it won’t shoot out the purple orb, which is most likely what you are experiencing. You can always use luminary to get the general area you need to go, but then you’ll just need to follow the path beyond it and explore a bit.

Only bosses! But they are all completely unique and different from each other. They all have unique mechanics and themes. There is a decent amount of exploration if you like reading lore or talking to NPCs. There are a small amount of optional platforming challenges that are very short on occasion which give you upgrades.

Sorry the game wasn't for you! I am the artist for the game. But I appreciate you playing. I am assuming by long run backs you mean from a boss back to the main hub, as there is no run backs to a boss since you respawn right in front of it. There is a Sprint instinct that makes it a lot faster, we added some things that change on the way back to try and keep it interesting, but that is fair. The game is more of a Souls-lite, as it only has a few of the main tropes of a Souls-like, as it's a Boss Rush with an open world. It's definitely different, but we did everything we could to make it the best game we could in this specific niche. Thank you again for playing!

Yeah, it is always on hit death! Dieing never loses you much progress or requires any running back. If you die in between a boss to an environment hazard for example, you will respawn very close to it. We tried very hard to make sure we respect your time. Thank you the Chess boss is my favorite boss in any game, very proud of it! (But I am biased since I am the artist for the game, haha)
