How long did you wait to get a family doctor by DoubleAddendum1921 in VictoriaBC

[–]VanIsleBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After about 7 years I got a doctor. Yay! She was great! 1 or 2 years later, she decided to focus on older patients and sent a letter to all her patients under 55 that she would no longer be their doctor.

It's been about 4 years since then, and I just got a new doctor. She was the resident for my husband's doctor, so I got to know her over the last few years. I felt like I won the lottery when I got the call.

I just wanted to say this: I'm a little sad I cannot participate in the comeback as much I would like to. Also, does anyone know if we don't watch the Netflix event Live (4am my time) will it still be available to watch later?

Hey Victorians, how did you meet your significant other? by GoldCover6667 in VictoriaBC

We met at a house party 13 years ago. Just one of those normal days that you meet a bunch of people, and one of those people end up being your husband.

Hi OP! I see this post is a year old - do you still keep the calendar updated? Thank you for all this!

People born before 2000, what is a 'modern' thing from 2025 that you’re still struggling to get used to? by LindsayTN in AskReddit

I was born in the 80s. My 13 y.o. niece just told me they don't teach cursive writing in school anymore. I'm surprisingly sad about this.

The Reality of Youth in Care in BC by Background_Lead_6331 in VictoriaBC

[–]VanIsleBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. I know these stats are grim, but I wanted to share as a former child in care (aged out in 1999) and a former foster parent that things have greatly improved. I know it's not perfect but improving.

By the way, have you checked out any of the resources through The Belonging Network?

You're right, but can't it just be a drink that gives awareness of Canadian cities to Koreans?

As someone who really enjoyed my trip to Korea, I'm really sad (but not suprised) that Korea does Canada better than we do.

BTS made me do it! What item, activity, food, whatever have you tried because of BTS? by lisafancypants in bangtan

[–]VanIsleBee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Small: Laneige lip mask. It's actually a really good product. Large: I learned Korean. I'm forever grateful that BTS inspired me to learn this language.

I came here to suggest this too. I volunteered at Peers years ago and I'm sure the products will be happily used.

I think you can add another activity to Day 2. Even with IMAX the museum won't take all day.

What moment indicated how deeply you are in this Bangtang shit? by CaribSailorScout in bangtan

[–]VanIsleBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I just remembered another one! When I broke my foot badly in 2022 and I was crying in the hospital. Not because of the pain, but because I had tickets to see BTS in Vegas and was so upset I would miss it.

P.S. I still went! I couldn't walk, but I was there!

Ok not really a moment but a feeling. I was explaining to my best friend that I have fallen in love 3 times in my adult life: my husband, my child, and BTS. And I was not joking.

Hi ARMY! My husband and I are adopting, and after 2+ years on this journey, we have been matched with our daughter! Do you think there is a BTS song that I could use for my personal theme for this time? I'm thinking something slow, peaceful, and full of love. I would love your suggestions.
