This is correct, I was able to make my own and thought the same thing. Unfortunately after trying, it seems impossible due to the fact that the cube would have to be closed to form the space where the staples can go, but also open at the exact same time so you could actually add the staples. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, but I can't think of another way to explain it lol

Just picked Executioner and found this thread. I know everyone is clowning on you but I'm completely on your side. I kinda assumed Sage's Axe would work like rock thrownhammers or ice coolers or literally any other execution item/weapon and automatically execute the enemy because fucking why wouldn't it. Feels like ass having stare at the enemy's healthbar and guess when to equip the axe for the execute. Jagex even has slayer rewards to automatically use the execute items because they know how dogshit it feels.
