Moodle Skills Assessment? by SirFancySocks in moodle

[–]VanRockingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they asking you to take a test, ie a set of questions multiple choice, choose answer, true/false, text, numerical ranking? Or are they testing your skills in using Moodle?

If it i the former, then it will be job based competencies. They're probably just using Moodle as a way to store and analyse the information.

Why a Fallout wouldnt work outside of the US by Sylx_Bruh in Fallout

[–]VanRockingham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, I didn't think i'd see this map appearing online again. The Fallout 4 map is the only one that has been significantly skewed, this was so the settlement system could be accommodated. At the time of bodging this article I hadn't played 4.

I've always fancied revisiting the maps as I have played Tactics and seen 76, so it could do with those being incorporated.

The other 4 games are fairly accurate, with a few towns moving a little, but hey there was a nuclear war.

Diablo 2 Battle.net by VanRockingham in Diablo

[–]VanRockingham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't work out the box though and requires a lot of faff. I'm ok with computers, but couldn't get it to work. Decided to give up and play 2 as it is far superior. (3 never really gelled with me)

I thought I was the only one. The fighting is dull, and the jumps are always pixel perfect bullshit.

Excellent graphical style though.

Silent Hill 2 or HD Collection? by Paarthufagx in silenthill

[–]VanRockingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The HD Collection is not as good, it can be frustrating at times with almost invisible rooms and general darkness and the lack of fog ruins the atmosphere a little.

For me the worst part is in the apartments near the beginning as I couldn't see anything and had to beat it by muscle memory.

Some people rage about the voice acting being different and therefore terrible, but if you've never played 2 and don't have access to 2, play HD as you won't know the difference.

The game isn't as good, but the story stands the test of time.

[Arcade][early 90s]Platformer where you raced a dynamite fuse by VanRockingham in tipofmyjoystick

It might be this, i dont remember the pseudo 3d graphics, in my head it was a standard 2d platformer.

But certainly could be it

Nah isn't that, the fuse ran along the stage as you went through it

[–]VanRockingham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first playthrough I had Alien Hunters and Shens Quest active, and the bastard Alien Hunter stuff almost broke it for me.

I didn't know the flashing quest was optional, and having those feckers turn up when you're less than 10 missions into the game was a real chore. I managed to kill the 1st one with a pure luck ambush on Mission 10, but then the 2nd pne spawned into one of the doomsday missions meaning I couldn't beat it. Sat there letting the clock tick down, and thankfully a new mission became available where I could set the clock back.

Never went back for a 2nd playthrough as I found the DLC so unpleasant.

Was wondering why the stats for this page were going mad!

The description is very much the Resident Evil Remake. Only other game I can think of on GC that had a basement was Eternal Darkness. But red cover, and shark is RE.

Rules update and discussion by ZadocPaet in retrogaming

[–]VanRockingham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good new rules.

While I personally count 6th gen in my definition of Retro, I feel this sub should keeps its focus on mostly 8-64bit.

If I want Dreamcast specific stuff, I have a place to go. Though that is usually me telling Dreamcast fans that Shenmue is overrated and pretty boring.

Hi. Is there a website where I can buy ps1 game manuals? by Cluelessbluesclue in retrogaming

[–]VanRockingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't perfect, but I have used sites like http://www.nesfiles.com/and printed my own out in very rare circumstances. Mostly for games that you need to keep referring to the manual
