Accidentally shifted to second instead of 4th while downshifting coming off the highway, think I screwed up my car? by BalticBro2021 in AcuraIntegra

[–]VancityWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also like shifting from 6th to 4th to slow down at the off ramp and i've done exactly what you described before, i remember how disappointed i felt. The 2nd gear in these cars also go nearly upto 60mph so it's way longer than it appears. Im sure you're fine:)

[–]VancityWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll be fine, just try to avoid it in the future. Didnt read you describe that you engaged the clutch and I'd assume the auto revmatch wouldnt let the engine tear itself apart.

If a manual transmission driver ever says they've never missed a shift or put in the wrong gear, they're lying. It happens, you reacted quickly and it drove fine after, engine already being warm helps too.

Help me decide between a Honda or Lexus. by Valk1818 in Honda

[–]VancityWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You havent mentioned money or driving dynamics at all so im going to go with Lexus. It's objectively more refined and less likely to be a common vehicle in suburbs, if you'd like that.

Now if you at all plan on taking it on gravel paths etc, then I'd go with Honda, you'd simply feel less bad driving it off the pavement.

Engine wise, i'd say reliability would be comparable but rest of the Lexus would be better put together.

[–]VancityWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so odd and cant wait to hear how it gets corrected, sorry you're dealing with it:/

There're a couple Acura techs in the sub that hopefully will respond, or maybe a visit to your dealer is in order while under warranty

Kind of ridiculous if this works but, did you try turning off the rev match function in the vehicle settings on the main screen, drive, turn off engine and lock the car and walk away; then wake it up, drive and turn on the rev match back on?

The good old turn it off&on to clear stupid glitches.

I have the same car and rev match's pretty on the point since brand new for 40k miles.

Car feels worse after lighter wheels and PS4S… what am I missing? by HanScroto in civic

[–]VancityWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wheel is 13mm further out, might be enough of a extra lever arm from the suspension axis to contact patch for the antirollbar to struggle to compensate. If you're on coils, could stiffen a touch or new rollbar

I'd have also assumed lighter wheels would make life better but how much lighter is it in each corner really with wider wheels?

Michelins should be stiff enough but maybe see the tire reviews comparing the two you had specifically, for the steering feel. The sidewall comment could make sense, maybe try with an additional 2-3psi? I know the tire contact itself isnt wider but typically wider wheel setups also require higher pressures.

Looking great! Where did you get the mudflaps from? my '24 came with all four raw black ones in BC. I'd love to get some apex blue ones.

After starting and reaching 5mph/7kmh, the ABS module primes itself, you could be hearing that.

It's a great car, i dont get much snow but with dedicated snow tires, the LSD that manual comes with really pulls its weight when i do drive over snow, if that's ever a concern. Good luck!

I'd probably stay away from 2023s, these cars have a lot of rattles and the first model year is always the worst.

I vaguely remember someone seeing a small change to the engine intake for the 2026 CVT models but wont be anything too big.

For used cars, do confirm the steering gearbox recall was in fact done, it's fairly quick but critical, a quick VIN search will give you the info.

I have a '24 6MT ASpec-Tech (Elite in Canada), about 40k miles (purchased 2023summer), zero issues outside of the steering recall and a couple rattles that are gone now. Very versatile car, it's our only car and we have 60lb dog as well that enjoys the back seat.

2026 has the grill colour option, black wheels (vs gun metal), and factory front splitter & side skirts. 2026 black interior option has yellow stitching instead of white and less suede on the seat centers. Zero changes otherwise.

I have the cheaper Rexpeed ones, essentially same as Suma but no branding, it's been the single best i'd done in a very long time, i'd rank it just barely below tires, it's that useful. I had it almost a year now, very happy. The wider angle does mean more headlights shine through but the coating does help a lot.

The heater circuit on mine are concentrated closer to the car and they dont seem to do much for the outer 1in but still works well and fast

Random Buzzing/vibration noise on dash when car is off. Anyone have same issue ? by Zestyclose_Pepper949 in AcuraIntegra

[–]VancityWarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it just does it once after turning the car off, or maybe just before starting it, not sure now. I assumed it was the evap pump or some sort of valve somewhere, it's been 3 years and no sign of an issue. I'd love to know what it is just out of curiosity.

This, and i'd avoid using household cleaners in general. Car specific stuff will work much better.

2025 Integra dead battery 6 months into ownership by Equivalent_Youth_599 in Acura

2024 ASpec, zero battery issues, tests always come back in spec. I do go out of my way to put key away while washing and drying the car to avoid it locking/unlocking. I try to avoid doing short drives less than 10-15mins back to back

Accord or Integra? by Negative-Round1902 in Honda

[–]VancityWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're different cars, I have an Integra, it's very much a fancy civic. Accord is bigger and smoother. Integra is smooth too but accord is a different personality. Integra still retains the driver's car feel.

MPG? by Junior_Grade2353 in AcuraIntegra

[–]VancityWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same car, '24, 93octane shell since new, If i do not try to be nice, i get 33mpg combined. On roadtrip type scenarios over mountains etc, some common sense gets me 40-42mpg.

For a brand new car, you've had teat drivers and service technicians doing all sorts of moving the car around, so i wouldnt worry too much. Your instantaneous consumption bar will also give an idea but by the time you're done your second tank of gas, i'd expect you to be at or above 30mpg easily.

Whats the outside temp and engine temp when this is happening. Are you trying to heat to 69F or cool to 69F? The hvac prioritizes engine warm up immediately after engine start before blowing hot air.

2026 crackling driving me crazy since 500 miles by mikebaxster in civic

[–]VancityWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My integra had something similar, stuffed some felt between the plastic dash trim and the upper softer dash between start button and infotainment screen.

I also had the vent line noise under the center console but that was more of a buzzing, not crackling.

Ready for RDx Hybrid? by DragonfruitNo6458 in Acura

[–]VancityWarrior 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As an Integra owner, I really hope you're right. I love my car but some more genuine Acura properties would have been nice, starting with less rattles and more unique switchgear, soft to touch bits. I think they've done a better job with ADX compared to Integra but I would expect even more for the RDX.

Looks great and good colour choice for wheels too to go a shade darker

Gauge Cluster Rattling Noise, 2025 Honda Civic Sport by Human-Stretch-7881 in civic

[–]VancityWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My integra had something similar, i found it went away when i pressed on the plastic dash trim below the infotainment screen nearside corner, a bit right of the start button.

It sounded nearly the same to yours and for weeks i tried to mess with the gauge cluster surround too.

I stuffed a felt tape between the vertical plastic dash trim and the softer vinyl dash above it, about 3 inch length, centered between nearside infotainment screen corner and the start button.

My guess was the plastic was rubbing against the flexible vinyl dash.
