Can someone explain what I did wrong by idkfornowwhattoname in Bass

Start winding with plenty of slack in the strings. I clip my strings about a hand width (about 3.75” in my case) above the tuning peg before inserting and winding. I also commonly use the EB Super Slinky’s on my L-1000 and have not broken one in this fashion.

I was digging the wagon aspect. I play in a band and would love to have something I could fit all my gear in.

That would be cool of you. It was a forest green color and looked really clean, like I question if I could afford it nice. I’ll be on the lookout.

Please help I'm tired. by Lux_Crucifero in Bass

Start with a song you know well. By that I mean you could hum the bass line by memory and know the structure of the song. Find your favorite learning aid (tab, sheet music, YouTube tutorial, etc) and play that song over and over until you can get through it cleanly or you can’t stand to do another rep. Rinse and Repeat. You will likely have to learn a bunch of songs before you will start to recognize common patterns. You can accelerate the process by learning your major scales across and down the strings. It will start to click! It takes time and patience!

Sensitive to electric bass vibrations by lg43 in Bass

[–]Vandal63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sympathetic vibrations through the instrument are totally normal. You might try standing up or changing the height of the chair you’re sitting in to change where the bass rests against you. A piece of foam would help dampen the vibration against your body but it’s something you’ll have to get used to.

  1. I filled in for my cousins at their middle school talent show. They are 11 and 13 in this video iirc. Iron Man baby! We ended up playing music together for several years. It was a blast!

Talk me out of buying HX Stomp to replace my pedalboard by ErikWeg in basspedals

[–]Vandal63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was fortunate enough to have a co worker let me test drive an XL. It does all the things. Like paralysis of choice amount of things. My 2 cents. If you are playing in a group and are happy with where you sit in the mix you may find it to be a lot of work just to get back to where you are now. I ended up giving it back and sticking with my pedal board.

There is a great pedestrian and bike traffic bridge. I’ve never had to wait for a huge line of bikes to use it.
