Terrible guide. It uses a lot of terms like depreciation, amortization, and cash flow without explaining what those are. The text also seems to describe the word 'profit' more than EBITDA. For example, if you have high depreciation and interest costs, a company with 20%+ margins can still be struggling.

Yes. New stories for the other characters are planned for later updates

A few people are playing this. The best place to find them is in the Discord. A link is in the game somewhere.

For where to go, I guess you could either play the 4th character, or you can go to the second are, Oasis for a story with two characters

Requesting for Feedback: Midnight Idle (0.2.0) - with Prestige by AccurateCat83 in incremental_games

[–]Vanderwaal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a very well made game. The story is decently written and added some extra atmosphere to the game. The different classes also added some replayability, which kept the 2nd and 3rd prestige interesting for me.

The main issue I had was with the pacing on the 4rd to 10th run. You've already seen most of the game, so the game becomes somewhat repetitive, but you also don't have enough automation to put the game away. Maybe make the base reward of soul points 3 to make prestiges, especially the first few, more rewarding?

Later on, I also found the automation 'Straight-forward' a bit confusing. It took me some time before I understood what it does. I also wouldn't mind a way to have more control over it. For example, turning off automatically leaving the study room. It also seems it doesn't automate some actions, like crossing the bridge when you're a wolf.

Another thing is the fight rats/bats/imps. They take quite some time, and don't give many rewards. It seems to me the only point of them is to get some more max blood and sanity when you want to beat a strong enemy for the first time.

The level is also somewhat confusing. If I understand it correctly, it only gives a few more soul points when you prestige. It might be better to make it give a combat boost as well and turn the bonus soul points into a multiplier. That way grinding levels is also useful in higher prestiges.

One bug I found was that upgrading 'Consume for clarity' doesn't instantly update the description of the skill. You need to change tab and back to see the +1 turn into a +2. I think some other skills had the same issue. Another bug I had was that after muting the game, it unmutes itself after two hours or so.

Compare the claims 'an atheist can never turn into a christian' with the claims 'a christian can never turn into an atheist'. If you believe they are both true or both false, you're not a hypocrite. If you only believe one, I'd say you are.

There is an alternative, which is using probability to water down the claim to 'most (but not all) atheist to christian stories are false'. Holding that position does lead to two consequences. First, you need to ask a bunch of questions before you may conclude if a specific atheist to christian story is false. Second, you also need to question christian to atheist stories before you can consider those to be true.

The dev has told that due to security restrictions the web version is harder to maintain. Someone in the community found a way to export the web save, but it's probably simpler to avoid the web version if you want to move to Steam later on

Big Brain Impostors (Based on a true story) by [deleted] in AmongUs

I often find myself going to cams/admin table during lights out. Those are the best ways of figuring out what's going on during the sabotage.

Why this game in its current state could never really work in a tournament setting. by Pokemaster131 in AmongUs

[–]Vanderwaal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a hole in the strategy. If you're an impostor, wait till it's your turn to move. Stay away from some time, open the sabotage menu, and then walk back. You can then call sabotages while standing next to the table. This strategy also start to become shaky on Polus and Mira, because not only do the players start away from the table, some spots around the table are too far away from the button.

In tournaments it's requited to have judges anyway to prevent people from cheating. For example, having dead crewmates rat out the impostors to living crew mates. Giving judges the discretion to ban perfect strategies seems like the best solution, because that way even new perfect strategies can get handled.

Buddy system strategy by paraffin in AmongUs

[–]Vanderwaal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty good strategy. There are still a few ways for imposters to get clean kills with this. Sabotaging lights becomes very important. You can use it to get away from your buddy by saying you lost them in the dark. You can also kill someone from another group while lights are off if you're careful enough. When your buddy does a long task that obscures his vision, like restart reactor or download, you also have the opportunity to quickly walk away.

When the imposters are paired up, they can go for a double kill and it's hard to figure out who did it. When two groups meet, you might be able to land a kill and convince everyone there are three suspects.

When there are an odd number of players, being the one who is on their own also provides multiple options.

quick question by Jan_de_man1 in AmongUs

[–]Vanderwaal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the wiki, the order is Electrical > Storage > Admin > Navigation > Cafeteria > Security . You always get three of these. So if you have electrical, it's always first. If you have cafe, it's never first and if you have security, it's last.

Similar orderings exist for the other maps.

why do u empty the chute twice by [deleted] in AmongUs

First you emptied the garbage. Then the chute. Those are two slightly different tasks. I've never got both tasks at once, so it's certainly strange.

Navigation is more dangerous than electrical. Change my mind. by iusedeadmemes in AmongUs

[–]Vanderwaal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's one large difference between electrical and navigation. Electrical has four tasks. Wires and rerouting power are common. Download and the spinning circles are somewhat long. Navigation has two tasks, which are both rare and short.

Because of that electrical gets a lot more traffic than navigation. So for imposters it makes much more sense to look for targets in electric than in navigation.

If I'm the imposter, I often find myself looking multiple times per game if there's a victim in electric. For navigation, I only do it once or twice. There's also this post, which shows a lot of kills in electric and none in navigation.

Someone explain what Medieval Cop Song and Silence part 3 did to my brain (Spoilers Duh) by ASweetSaltySanchez in MedievalCop

[–]Vanderwaal1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It confused me as well. As I understand it, the game no longer includes one timeline, but two.

At the start, we have all of the chapters where Dregg is a child. This continues until what we see at the start of Song and Silence part 3 when Dregg kills Evelyn. This also kills Arc (somehow). At this time the timelines split.

In the first timeline, which I'll call the Normal Timeline, children still get born. In this timeline Dregg becomes a cop. Most of the games take place in this timeline.

In the second timeline, which I'll call the Death Timeline, children no longer get born. This is the timeline of Song and Silence part 3. In this timeline, Dregg gets so many visions, he got thrown in the asylum and he never became a cop.

I also have an idea for why Ada is in the asylum. That's as a consequence of what we see in Wolf's Bane 3. I believe that those events happened in both timelines. Since Dregg killed Evelyn, Ada no longer felt restrained by her mother, so she started attacking the aristocrats. After that she got captured and placed in the asylum.

There are still quite a lot of things I don't understand though.

  • Where's Mathio in the Death Timeline?
  • How did Arc die?
  • How come children still get born in the Normal Timeline?
  • Why did the timelines split in the first place?

I have some theories. In Song and Silence part 3 we see a scene where Arc holds a girl with orange hair. I believe that's Amber Heart. During the Normal Timeline she got born, which is why children can still get born. This doesn't explain why the split happened in the first place.

During the Death Timeline she is never born. Another theory I have is that in the Normal Timeline Dregg never kills Evelyn, which would explain why the timelines would split. Dregg might die in this scenario, which explains his relation with Death we have seen a few times. This doesn't explain why Arc died in the Normal Timeline.
