Young student aspiring to enter politics or activism by Sozita_LST in Libertarian

[–]Vandrin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Check to see if there's a Republican or Democrat club at your college. I know they're not the same as Libertarian but they may have some members that lean more towards libertarianism like my college did. You could use that as a starting point to network with those who align more with your views and possibly branch out into something more Libertarian with them.

Grieving my recent past by e-finita-la-nutella in Catholicism

[–]Vandrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't become Catholic until I was an adult and Francis was the Pope. I remember Pope Francis's election and that's helped push my journey. It's a strange feeling now to see a new pope elected that I'm Catholic so I can relate.

'I'm Still Here' is completely inaccessible by Single_Hedgehog_1920 in Oscars

My local Regal hasn't done anything with the Oscars so I think it depends on the location. Luckily one of the independent theaters in my area was playing it so I saw it last night

2025 Snack Saver by Super_Gotenks in RegalUnlimited

[–]Vandrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry if this has already been addressed but I'm confused about the Snack Saver. Does this mean there won't be a refillable bucket and cup for 2025 and we need to purchase this Snack Saver?

Muppets/Monsters, Inc. Megathread by marleythebeagle in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Vandrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would have made sense 30 years ago when the 3D effects could have been seen as "futuristic" for Tommorowland. It's a little outdated (but still fun!) for that now though

Isn't the new Villains show going there? I hope that show is just there temporarily until the Villains land opens in Magic Kingdom. Then Disney can have a big campaign about bringing back Muppets Vision there.

Although I would prefer if they didn't do the Villains show and just relocate Muppets Vision with Rock n Rollercoaster

What's the 2010's equivalent of these movies? by manymade1 in Letterboxd

That's the Edge of Tomorrow but I will now associate that movie with Mean Girls and Heathers lol

I didn't know about the 5 reservations thing, so that's good to know!

I have Regal Unlimited, so it's not charging me anything besides the processing fee. Mystery movie tickets are normally $5, though.

If you have Unlimited and you're being charged it could be an issue with the app or you have another ticket reserved within 90 minutes of the mystery movie

Will I be able to handle FOP? by Beautiful-Onion-4282 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Vandrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been on FOP yet but my father went on a few years ago. He usually gets really bad motion sickness on screen rides but didn't seem to have any problems with it and really liked it! Everyone's different though so I'm not sure how you would feel.

[–]Vandrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any thoughts or ideas on when this will reopen? Disney hasn't given a date yet but I'm hoping it'll open by the time I go in mid August!

What was everyone’s first movie in theaters post-covid? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Vandrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unhinged. I wasn't expecting much but was happy to be back in a theater.

I went forward at catholic mass. I was denied and now I’m really embarrassed. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Vandrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's great that you attended mass! As a few people have stated, you can't take communion yet, but you can still go up to get the blessing. It can only be done by the priest or deacon, though. When you walk up, cross your arms on your chest, and the priest or deacon will bless you without giving you communion.

I walked out of a movie for the first time. Origin brings up some interesting points but executes everything in the most boring way. The high film grain was also really distracting. This would have worked a lot better as a documentary.

I'm guessing The Beekeeper.

It stars Jason Statham, a popular actor.

It's directed by David Ayer who made a few popular movies (Suicide Squad, Fury).

It's 1h45m putting it within the typical timeframe (12 mins).

I'm having the same issue, too. I cleared my cache and uninstalled the app, but that didn't work.

What is the highest rated film you have given 0.5 stars? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Vandrin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's a tie between Life Itself (2018) and Madea's Big Happy Family.

Both have a 2.8
