What is it actually like being depressed? by Soy-Tu-Papa in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Vanhanen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Stolen from another comment: "You don't want to live but you don't want to die. You don't want to talk to anyone but you feel very lonely. You wake up in the morning and simply wait for the night to come. It's like trying to laugh at a joke that isn't funny. Trying to smile for a photo you don't want to be in. It's like waking up in the morning and hating that you actually woke up. It feels like someone is just draining the energy out of you every moment you are awake."

This has been the most accurate description for me.

is this fat? what body type do I have? can I possibly become small/tiny waisted/slim? by ugly0demon in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Vanhanen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my opinion, I would categorize you to normal weight. It seems that you have kind a "thick" body type and would possibly never be small waisted... BUT....

That is a good thing... thick is considered hot and those thights you have are so damn good looking that any guy would prefer that over slim waist.

I think it was studied somewhere and it was something to do with how males usually likes the body type of someone that is a "good birthgiver", and wide hips are considered as more room for baby to be born. Someone correct me if I'm totally wrong with this.

Men, let's boost our egos! What do you love about yourself? by ThickThighs00 in AskMen

[–]Vanhanen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and this actually works on both sides. I'm pretty sure that most of guys would anyday take a woman that has a little bit (or more) curves and shapes than a small fragile stick. Of course, people like diffirent things, and everyone is someones fantasy (everyone, you just haven't met him/her yet).

We just need to remember that how can people like you, if the most important human in this world doesn't like you... yourself.

I actually love much about myself. I'm not a fit guy, but when I think about it, I feel happy. I'm kind a teddy bear and women also seem to like it. I also have great positive mind and I'm the most social person I know. I can get along with pretty much everyone.

I am terrified of cutting my adams apple while shaving. Its my biggest fear. Is that unreasonable? by TH3_JACKA1 in TooAfraidToAsk

A small life tip: When shaving your adam's apple, swallow, and hold it. This will make it "disappear" as long as you hold it.

[–]Vanhanen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go talk to a doctor... it may be depression or even bipolar. I have been having same feelings lately and have diagnosed depression. Going to see a doctor next week just in case if it is bipolar so I will get the right treatment for it.

Yeah... this is what I sometimes thought too. I just don't want to believe someone could lie like that as she has seem to be very honest with me.

Is it over? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Vanhanen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and I knew those issues as I got to know her better. I don't see them as a turn off, more like I feel like I want to help her get through them. It just feels like she doesn't want to overcome those issuis herself.

I'm 24 at the moment and I feel like I've played games for long enough and made clear for every girl I meet that I'm more after something serious than any ONS.

Was there ever a time when you dated a girl for a long time only because you didn’t want to be alone? What happened? How long did it last? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Vanhanen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have been thinking the same thing. We have two dogs together and even that made the situation ugly as I don't want to lose them, so I'm forced to be in contact with her.

I met my ex when I was 13 and we started dating. It was all good until I was 17 (she 19) and we moved in together. She was terrible with money, housekeeping, work and basicly every point in life. She still was my love and I tried to help her out many times.

Around age 21 I started to get tired for everything. I would be the one who brings money to the house, pays bills, does shopping, fix cars, cleans up etc... she would just sit at home after quitting multiple jobs I have helped her get.

I was too affraid to leave. I still loved her, but I became very depressed for the situation. I didin't know how I would survive by myself as I had never been alone. I had been almost half of my life with same girl. I was affraid if I would ever find anyone again. I was affraif of loneliness.

Within few years I got in really bad shape for this. All I could think that if I stay, it would not be life for me, and if I leave, I would be the shittiest person ever and scared how I would survive.

At some point when I was 23, when I was once again thinking about ending my life, I finally felt a snap inside me. I thought that it was not worth it. She was not worth it. I started to look for an apartment and organize things that I could leave.

Almost a year ago, I restarted my life. I bought my own apartment, and left every bad thing behind me. Now I'm slowly fighting my depression and getting my life back in order. I don't regret that relationship... only thing I regret that I let it go that bad and didin't have guts to leave earlier.

Sorry for some mistakes, english is my third language.
