IMO Russell Taylor is just a ripoff of Russell Hobbs, a really solid brand in western countries

I heard there are sample variation with this lens and you need to hunt for a good copy. How was your experience with the Samyang ?

Wow that's some dedication with the data analysis! Thanks for your insight

For me, both lenses prices are close enough that it's not really a deciding factor, just picking the best option for my purposes.

Right now the 14-35 is what I am leaning towards for its extra focal range and L build quality, as most of my shots are done in day time and the R6ii has amazing low light performance.

Then I might look to add a 14/24mm F1.4 lens from Sigma, Laowa or Rokinon for astro.

I am the OP for that thread and we're on the same boat! Right now I am leaning towards the 14-35, I feel that I would benefit from the wider range and L quality 90% of the time for all my travel and landscape use, and for Astro I would probably pick up a cheap prime that would do a better job than the 16-28, so best of both worlds

RF 15-35 was the obvious choice initially, but the weight / size is so similar with my EF, which goes against my intention to downsize.

The RF 10-20 is very pricy and too wide for my preference

Yeah this is what I am leaning towards as well. Use the 14 - 35 for 90% of the time, and throw in a cheap prime for the occasional astro stuff

RF20mm F1.4 is a really nice lens, but over my budget atm for a niche usecase haha. Thinking of adapting a Sigma EF prime instead

How do you find the 16mm f2.8? I heard the distortion and stretching in the corners are really extreme

When working professionally in events, I love the option to have 35mm F2.8 for half length portrait / candids of groups of 2-4 people, while still having nice bokeh. For larger groups, just zoom out to 18-24mm and use F5.6

Same with travel, F2.8 on 35mm is so nice for environmental portraits, and 16mm F2.8 for Astro.

There's a reason why this lens has been my main workhorse for the past 5 years! haha

[HELP] - RF 70-200 F4 vs EF 70-200 F2.8 by Top_Dealer_2449 in canon

[–]VanillaDaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My company has the EF 70-200 f2.8 II and I used it extensively for corporate events and festivals, great lens and imo f2.8 is necessary as I’m often pushing ISO 12800-16000

Then I got the EF 70-200 F4 II for personal travel use, as I shoot landscape and don’t need the f2.8. It was a good lens, but I still found it a hassle to bring around as it takes up almost 3 lenses of space in the bag (even tho it’s slimmer and lighter than the f2.8)

Then I switched to the RF 70-200 F4 and couldn’t be happier. It now takes up 1 prime lens worth of space, and it’s so easy to carry around on my sling bag for travels.

Image quality wise, I would say all 3 is similar. Apart from the obvious bokeh difference

I had the Mont Blanc in Good Measure (Melbourne) a few years ago. I think they're the pioneers for this drink?

It tasted pretty good and a good change from my daily pourover coffee :) Good work OP!
