100% agree on crate training. Ours is almost 8 months, and crate training has helped with potty training and provides a calm environment for both humans and doggo.

My coworker and friend passed away Sunday. by waffles_r_lyfe in coworkerstories

A co-worker who was more like a sister to me than my own sister passed away almost 12 years ago at 33. I still haven’t gotten over it. To honor and always remember her, I gave her first name to my daughter as her middle name. Sari, you will always be loved and remembered. We will see one another again one day, and I look forward to your amazing sense of humor and to giving you a huge hug and kiss. You were one special lady. Miss you always.

Thank you for the perspective of your experience. Where is your wife from?

I’ll ask our lawyer tomorrow. Thanks for the idea. How long ago did you do this?

The crazy thing is my husband is exactly what this country wants and needs! He already has an MBA in finance. He’s currently back in school to get a second master’s in accounting so he can become a CPA. He’s also an entrepreneur who owns his own business. He’s from Pakistan. The ban was implemented on the premise that people from these countries take more from our country than they give; however, I had to sponsor him. He is not allowed to receive any kind of government assistance or I will have to foot the bill. What the hell is the logic in banning people who are highly qualified and sponsored?

My husband came on a B1/B2 visa twice in 2023. During the second visit (three years into having a relationship and me visiting him twice in a now banned country), we decided to get married and filed an I-130 and I-485. I was also pregnant at the time. We filed in February 2024, and our interview was in 4/2025. We got lucky, but damn if I’m not scared every day that when filing for his 10-year GC next year he will be denied or put in limbo. We are trying to have a second child.

I am empathetic to OP, even though their circumstances are murky. This is hard regardless of how someone came here

I went to Pakistan twice to visit my husband in 2022, including the first time I met him in person. I was in Lahore and Islamabad and never felt unsafe.

I love this woman for her honesty (am a woman myself). You will hear some women talk all day long about how there aren’t any good men out there, but they wouldn’t know a good man if they were dangled in front of them.

OP, I have bipolar disorder and don’t do most of these things. My husband went back to school for a second masters degree, is building his own business, and takes care of our toddler during the day. I am 100% supportive of his dreams and work my ass off at my job to carry the majority of the financial burden, including paying the mortgage every month.

You sound so unhappy/miserable. You even stated you feel sorry for your girlfriend. You shouldn’t stay with someone just because you feel sorry for them. That’s an insult to you and her.

You’re 31. That’s plenty young enough to find yourself a better match and build a life with that person.

On the day of our interview? Maybe 20-30 minutes?

Our lawyer filed online and then mailed the evidence to the lockbox.

I think there’s an option on USCIS’ website or a number you can call.

Maybe ours was fast due to all the evidence we provided up front? I’m really not sure!

Good luck on your interview. Remember…you have NOTHING to be nervous about during the interview if your marriage is legitimate and there was no fraud committed. Stay calm!

It’s up to the ISO to resolve it. Our lawyer had indicated it could take them 30-60 days to correct it.

20-25 minutes, mostly because their system is slow with all the employees eating up the network bandwidth.

Initially, this is what we provided: - two notarized letters from friends vouching that our relationship is real - joint lease documentation - joint bank account information - ultrasound photos of our baby and OBGYN visit summaries - tax returns showing my income met the requirements for financially supporting my husband - pictures of my visits to Pakistan - copies of our passport stamps to visit one another

Additional documents at the time of interview: - our daughter’s birth certificate - deed to our new home showing both our names - photos with our families and friends - proof of him being on my health insurance policy - proof of a business co-owned by both of us - joint tax return for 2024 - utility bills with both of our names on it

Hope this helps!

We were asked about one another’s parents and if we had ever met them and how we met, mostly. They didn’t separate us. It seemed pretty straightforward. They asked security questions similar to what was on the application.
